My brakes

I have a 2001 civic and my brakes are starting to screech. I don't know if it's my front ones or my drums. I don't drive that much too and would think that brakes will last longer then this. Maybe it's because I use to keep messing with the e-brake(to stop sooner and to drift). I was wondering if I could take it to my dealer and see if it is under warantee and get this problem fixed. I have lowered my car about 2" but I don't think they will mind since it's not suspension is it??? thx dudes

Brakes are wear items and not warrantied. I was told when I went in for some Jingle noise in the front brakes that some people successfully killed Civic brakes in as little as 20K miles. I don't know how. Even with autocrossing the hell out of mine, Ive got 26K on the car and 1/2 the pads left. I wouldn't even take it to the dealer, cuz they'll charge out the *** just to look at them. Find your favorite trustworthy shop and take it there. Usually they'll peek a them for a lot less than the dealer.

why are the rears a biatch, i don't think the discs in the front would take longer than the rear discs.... o wait i am one of the few people here that have rear disc brakes... haha... o well

PUNK!!! Yeah, havin disk is a lot better than drums. A lot easier to replace pads than shoes cuz the drums have springs and stuff and its dangerous cuz the springs might shoot out when u try to remove em' .
