New Civic owner
hello fellow civic owners,
i'm 17 and i just got my 1st car- a 2003 silver Honda Civic LX coupe. i want to make some mods to my civic, but i don't have alot of money right now because i spent it all on the car. what are some easy ways that i can pimp out my civic without blowing my bank account.

Check the DIY section. There are a lot of good cheap mods that you can do to your new toy.

ok, here's my problem with doing it myself. being only 17 and on my 1st car, i have neither the experience nor the confidence to start messing with my car. i'm not familiar with every single part that makes a car function, like i'm sure most of u are. now, i'm not a total idiot when it comes to cars if that's what your thinking, i just haven't had much time with cars. i guess what i'm trying to say is that i would be afraid of screwing something up. did any of u share this problem when u were younger?

I hear ya, I've had my car for about a year now and I'm still not that heavy on the DIY. I'd rather have it done right with out me screwing ne thing up. P.S. Congrats.
Im 17 too dude. I have learned a lot from this site. You just gotta start small and work your way up from there. As you accomplish small feats, your confidence will grow.
Try the DIY "LX" and "Civic" removal. It cleans the backend up a bunch, and is very easy to do.
A tint is sweet, and so is DIY headlights.

welcome to the family.
first thing, lower it, even if its just with lowering springs, once you get rid of the wheel gap, do whatever you want.

thanx for all of the advice guys. i've taken a look at the DIY clearing the headlights and painting the center console. they look a little complicated, especially the headlights. but i gotta start somewhere, i'll just find someone to help me out. if u have any other ideas for cheap upgrades, just let me know.

no ricey crap man... no altezzas or anything.. heres what i would do... look at the DIY for clearing headlights so you know how to open them up... take apart, paint housing black, put amber back in, and seal back up.. then do these mods.. approximate prices depending on deal you can find...
$300- kamikaze header (twice as fun to drive)
$160 injen intake
$450-500 exhaust
then you are faster and more fun, then go from there...
otherwise... do this way
paint the headlights,
then drop, but DONT DO GHETTO!!! get struts AND coilovers/springs, will run you $600-800 depending on setup... and then get strut tower bars, this will make car more fun as well...
just DONT GO RICEY like all young kids do, you will wish you never had the ish on your car in 2 moinths when you really get into this and want clean style... just go for more fun to drive for now...
