New Shift Boot Idea I did
hey guyz, I dont have pics yet but will next week after my Tein SS gets installed.
Here what I did....
I have an auto and wanted a boot to make it look nicer with my new shift **** (razo ra89). So i installed the manual boot thingy and stuff and made it look like the wannabe manual. Well after about a DAY, i thought it looked dumb (i never liked it after I installed it) so I started thinking. So what I ended up doing was taking my auto thing (with the P R N etc.) and taking out the middle slider. I cut the 2 bars on each side and dremeled it down. I then cut the boot off the manual. I then put the manual boot inside the auto thing and zip tied it down (and made 2 extra holes to zip tie it into).
It looks really good, I will have pics next week.

Rep Power: 365 Oh... I had to read it a few times to understand what you were saying you did. It sounds like you copied a Mercedes shifter where the boot comes down to a rectangle. It sounds good, but I can't wait to see.

Thats not what I did, whoever posted the pics and the others who said thats what I did. I should have pics soon, Im going to take pics on Tuesday when my Tein SS are installed!
Let me re-explain what I did for those who are confused.
I took apart the center console and removed the thing that says "P R N D D3 2". I then removed the peice of plastic that slides when you move gears. I then dremeled the 2 bars that basically held that in (but they seemed useless). From there, I took the boot off the manual thing and removed it. I then cut the boot (which I probably shouldnt have done, lol) to make it shorter. I then took the boot and put it in the middle of the "P R N D D3 2" thing where the sliding piece of plastic used to be. I attached it by using zip ties, there were 2 holes to attach it to in the back but I had to drill 2 new holes to zip tie the front (I just made slits in the boot to put the zip ties through).
Hope that clears things up, just think of BMW or whatever cause thats what I got the idea. I should have pics in a few days.

Rep Power: 320 Well, pics will be soon if all goes right. I wont take pics till my RIMS get put back on but I had to take them off cause my BRAND NEW TEIN SS scrubbed with them. I gotta buy 205/40 tires this week, and then I will post pics. Sorry Guyz, bear with me. It has been a f-ing week from hell.

Civicvtecps1- look in the im scrubbing post i had, i just put up pics of my new tires and pics of the car.
