What could I "affordably do to my ladies 01 ex auto to get some more speed out of it, I roasted her at a stop sign when were trying to end the debate on how diffret my 01 5 speed and her car are. Gears? Torque converter? Anything would help.

Yes, the gears are different. A shift kit will help some. Other than that, I/H/E are only for sounding cool. You've got to swap or force induction to get any real gains.

get an aftermarket torque conveter, maybe some lighter racing wheels and some good rubber for them, reprogrammed ECU or s-afc, I/H/E like others said are basically useless in improving acceleration, BUT they are great for improvement in airflow, a nitrous kit is nice but dangerous and usually illegal. She could get a straight pipe and cut out her cat (would not be emissions legal then) or could get an exhaust bypass kit to dump her exhaust right out from under the car. Theres tons more of things she can do. Basically anything you can slap onto a manual you can slap on an automatic (cept for clutch/flywheel kits and short shifter kits) Just keep spending the cash on your best bang for the buck parts and teach her to launch her car without neutral dropping the car. I think the Torque limiter is somewhere around 2600rpms or so? Someone else could let you know for sure, but shes good to rev her engine up that far for sure with the brakes engaged at a red light and then just let off them as quick as possible as she starts floorin the accelerator.

Thanks for all the help but I am thinking that she would rather it look good for the time being and if ever the performance thing comes up and she dosent want to just get a new car I will look into all of your suggestions

if i got a nitrus kit in my car ( N.O.S. in prefference).. a dry kit.. would it mess up my engine if i didnt add any more things to it? or is this justt a rummor?????

there's quote a few auto 7thgens with turbo setups.

and in reference to the nitrous question, it won't if you're responsible with it. a 50 shot is reasonable, 75 is pushing it.
