Stupid Thieves
Last night someone broke into my car from the passengers side and stole my new in-dash headunit. They took the WHOLE part of the console that goes there including a/c controls and such AND cut all the wiring harnesses in there. You can see where they tried to pry out the glass then just gave up and kicked it in. The stupid thing is that they left the DVD player and the control module to the headunit as well as an 1100 Sony Camcorder in the back seat. I just finished getting all of this installed and set up the way I want. The cop that came out said there were 5 burglaries of cars last night alone and I live in an affluent part of town and we have never had such as rash amount of thievery. I hope the little b@stards that stole my stuff get in a wreck and trash their car.
Sorry, just venting because I think you can't get anymore chicken$hit than stealing from people.

March 1st same exact thing happened to me. Here is what happened.
Thieves cut the front plastic grill of my stock bumper and cut the horn wire to disable any factory alarm I had (if I had one). They proceeded to bust out the rear quarter panel window in the back of my sedan. Took my head unit out the same way they did you, and then used the pop trunker to take my subs and woofers. They left the amp underneath the passenger seat.
Insurance company looked over my car and asked me if I had the stuff bolted down and receipts for anything. I said yes. They gave me what I paid less depreciaton for the stuff at the time I bought it (depreciation for my stuff was 10% for each year passed, but I claimed my amp and sold it to get a new one so it made up for the depreciaton plus some extra money). The insurance company asked me how I had the sub box bolted down, and I said with brackets to the rear strut mounts. Insurance company wanted me to bring the brackets in, but I never did (was talking so long the guy forgot all about it).
Anyway I had dropped the car off for repair and the honda service center. you will be without your car for about a week. Since they cut the harness to the radio and the A/C., the whole dash needs to come apart. It is a real bitch and a half to do.
After that I got an alarm, and now I'm pissing off my ex-girlfriend with the warning button at night when I go see my buddy who lives across the street.
Got me a new/better stereo setup, and an alarm system to **** of my ex-girlfriend and her parents who ****ed me over. I couldn't have asked for anything more
