Just curious what ages everybody is and how they have the money for all this!
Sounds like there is probably alot of young skillful car wizards out there.
Me, I'm 28, and have no money to spend! How do you guys manage it, if you
bought a new Civic, like I did, and still have to pay for that!!
That's tough enough!
I paid 26 grand total for mine (canadian prices!), that includes paint sealant, and rust
proofing, and sport package.
With insurance and paying off the car, and other bills, how do you guys do it?
What kind of dream jobs do you guys have? lol

Im 20 y/o and I civic is paid in full due my dad dying last year so he lefted a lil bit of money and I bought a civic. I had a peice of crap b4 I had my vic. If I had a payment my car wouldnt be looking like it is now. All my mods is from working very hard at my job and whenever my boss askes me if I want overtime just 4-5 more hours more I take it. Thats more money for me. I work alotta overtime. Like yesterday I was chillin with my gf and my boss called me in and I worked for a few hours and made more money.

Full time student, but I co-op. I get paid when I'm working and I'll put about 1/4 of what I get into my car. I save the rest for when I'm at school and not making money, and for a rainy day.
My parents haven't paid for any of it. I don't buy too many mods... I just swing big time when I go for it.

I started community **** when I was young (volunteering and what not). Easily got into City Hall, where I saved enough for a Civic and a few more semeters of college. I've had bank accounts since I was 10 though. One's for myself, another's a joint with my mom's account, and another is for school.
I just don't have money lying around so I can't go any soop up my car. but at least i paid it in full. I wish I could though; a turbo would be nice. I quit my job so I can devote all my time to my studies. My mom thinks that was a good move, because I always spent/saved my paychecks towards stuff for my car anyways.

I'm 19, paid for the car in cash, pay for my own mods and etc, though I live at home. Working 2 part time gigs, 1 as a wireless sales rep and other as a network administrator at a small marketing firm. Going to college full time, but on a full scholarship with stipend. That covers gas and insurance (and $3 value menu lunches when I can't find free food on campus).
I'm 22 and full time student. But I am also in the Co-op program. So i get money from that.
It also helps that I've only paid $600 in tuition over 4 years. The rest (approx $20000) has been covered by scholarships.
So in summary I guess i get my car stuff from my brain.

I'm a 47 yr old lawyer helping 3 kids thru hs & college. Drove a BMW 525i for 12 yrs which rode nice but was slow as hell & cost more to tune & service than most mods for our vics. Love my 2k2 4r DX. Perfect balance of price, economy, utility, sport handling w/mods & great looks. BTW, this website is fantastic & really appreciate all the helpful comments & advice.
Damn.......you teenagers who get cars from their parents are damn lucky! lol
My parents are not like that! lol
I had to share the damn old accord with 2 sisters and mom, before I got my civic!
Dad wouldn't let anyone touch his new one! lol
Be grateful! Do your mods, be happy with it, then save for the future!

Do most of you guys still live at home? I know some of you say you pay rent but all the other guys? I bought my 02 vic when I moved out and didnt have hardly any money for mods but me and my girl broke up so ive been living at home for the past 3 months and have got a CAI, rims, tires and thats about it. But thats only cause my dad doesnt charge me rent, all i have to pay for is car payment and insurance. I know I couldnt afford mods if i lived on my own again. BTW i work full time as a supervisor at a factory!

I'm 20, full-time student. I'll be a junior this fall. During the summers I work full time as an administrative assistant/marketing intern. So all my summer money has paid for the mods, when i work part time thats really just gas/beer money. My dad bought me the car and its paid in full. Parents pay the insurance and taxes on it. As long as I keep my scholarship I'm good to go, I gotta start payin **** if i loose it...thats the deal.

25 money comes from people that owe me!!! they don't call me Vincenzo Salvatore Bar... For notin'. Just kidding, Own my own company plus i work a 9-5. Work Hard play hard!
I will be in graduate school in the fall. I'm almost 23 and this past year I've worked in an attorneys office working on probate and estate planning stuff.
Wish I could do half of what I've read on this site. No $$$ + extended warranty = hesitant to do much of anything. I figure I'll wait until the car is a few years old (when parts are a little cheaper and there's more variety) to change some things. Since joining this site, at least now I know what I'm talking about!
