good price for a nearly new tranny, though you can get some with a bit more mileage for much less.

Have you ever thought of trying a better transmission fluid? (i.e. Redline)

I'm talking about transmission oil, not engine oil. A good tranny oil should be around 70w-80 for example.

EDIT: Look up Manual Transmission oil.

When a tranny heats up, gears grind easily but I'm sure you know that. This could prove to be a worthy and cheap solution.

I was just having a conversation with a guy at autozone about this, synthetic oil can be used as tranny fluid. Sorry if im wrong but ive have heard this 3 times now.

you are correct, motor oil = tranny oil in our cars. not clutch fluid (thats dot 3 brake fluid i think). oem tranny fluid is 5w30. i just decided to switch to synthetic 5w30 see if i get an improvement (which i did, but still not perfect).

quote from redlinemotoroil or whatever that stuff is:

"MTLŽ Manual Transmission Lubricant
a 70W80 GL-4 gear oil (SAE 5W30/10W30 engine oil viscosity) designed for use in manual transmissions and transaxles. Provides excellent protection of gears and synchronizers and its balanced slipperiness provides a perfect coefficient of friction, allowing easier shifting."
