Sidemarkers Installed
I havent posted any updated pics in a long time, but I just did a DIY Sidemarkers that I got from www.tornactive.com just last week so I decided to share.
Had a rough start cause I didnt have the metal nibbler and was trying to cut into the car with these metal snips. The metal was getting all twisted and I was like
. But with the help and advice of Havok2K1, I think it turned out pretty well.
Something that I figured out, that I dont think was included in the DIYs, was once you get the first hole cut, just make a template out of tape. Worked much better than a cardboard template.
Rough cut of the 1st hole.
Clean cut on the 2nd hole.
Wiring
One other difference from the DIYs was, I didnt have to remove the front wheels. Just took off my bumper. Was enough room to do all the wiring.
And here they are.

Good job Krepoort, congratulations, looks awesome
I have those same exact sidemarkers from Tornactive too that I installed on my ride. Didn't it feel good to realize it wasn't really too hard of a DIY? Oh yeah, I didn't remove my tire or bumber either, since my arm/me is skinny enough to get to the bulbs
FYI, I'm not sure if where you're at it rains a lot, but if you didn't put rust sealant on the metal area that was nibbled you may want to do that. Additionally, you should also use clear silicone between the sidemarker and the metal hole and tape the sidemarker on for a day as well for extra protection and sturdiness (once it dries in about a day you can just cut the excess off). I did and it never gets wet or loose now . Before I added the silicone I could blast the sidemarker off with my garden hose and I could pour buckets of water on it and get some minor leakage, but after I siliconed no more leaks or looseness. Just thought I'd let you know... again, good job and lookin' great!!!

I dont know if I wanna use silicone, but I definitely wanna at least find a rubber grommit or something. There's actually a tiny gap between the sidemarker and the car that you can only see if you're right on top of it, so a grommit should take care of it as well as provide more water protection. It really isnt that bad. I actually found it more difficult opening up my headlights than cutting/drilling into my car.
