Coils or Springs
I am new to the lowering springs deal, but I was wondering if you guys could help me out. First of all whats better springs or coils. Next I heard if I get coils its a bumpy ride and that I also have to buy cambers. I see on ebay springs and coils for like 75 bucks. I am scared to buy them because that sounds too cheap. I would like to spend no more then 150 dollars, so what is my best bet on a good deal for lowering my car. Thanks for the help

if your limit is 150, you should get springs. neuspeed sport will give you a 1.75" drop and most likely you wont need a camber kit. the new goldlines will also give you a nice drop. eibach sportlines will give you a 1.4" drop. some of these springs might cost over 150, but you can always check out the group buy section on this site. dont buy those cheap no-name coilovers and springs from ebay!

you still need to buy new shocks because your stock shocks will eventually blow. the only aftermarket shocks out right now are the koni yellows, but you can always wait for the tokicos to come out. the tokicos were supposed to be out already, but the release date kept getting pushed back.

to clear thing up, you have HAVE to buy new shocks. its always recommended anytime you lower your car but you dont HAVE to.
and camber kits same thing... you dont HAVE to. but its recommended.
i didnt get new shocks or camber kit JUST neuspeed sports. www.aieonline.com has them for $145 shipped.
DO NOT buy ebay coilovers. if you do decide to go with sleeved coilovers stick to ground control or skunk2.

ebay is a no no. and if your gonna get coilovers, i suggest teins. Because you want true coilovers comparted to sleeved. Sleeved coilovers would be like skunk2. those will be bumpy as hell. you could just go with springs as well. do some research

sleeved coilovers are just the adjustable springs itself, without shocks. you would still need to buy aftermarket shocks just like the springs. the best sleeved coilover companies are ground control and skunk2.
non-sleeved or true/full coilovers are a full replacement of the suspension. this means that it comes with adjustable springs, and shocks. its easier to install because you just take everything out and put the new ones in. the best full coilover companies are B+G and tein. i have B+G.
heres a pic of my drop, 2.25"

damn weaponx that **** looks mad clean, not to dog your style but I want a drop like that, its perfect. Now that I know the difference I mine as well get true coilovers but if you don't mind about how much did you spend for the true coilovers from b and g? thanks

you're going to have to save up. b+g's and teins cost from around 900-1200. i would have gone with teins, but they didnt drop low enough for me so i went with B+G's
Oh wow never mind then, i'd rather spend that on rims, okay never mind that then, so after all of this helpful material I think the regular sport springs from neuspeed would work best. I probably don't need like vaniliman said any chamber or new shocks. thanks again everyone for the help........

you do need new shocks.. eventually. because our stock shocks suck. you can get konis for around 500, maybe cheaper, or wait for the tokicos. just be careful when/if your shocks blow, because you will bottom out
oh ****, so potentially if I don't get new shocks then, I will **** myself and the car will bottom out, well then maybe its just worth saving up for bgs so there is no hassle at all. hey vaniliman, has your car bottomed out or is it going to, better check that out according to weapon x

"just be careful when/if your shocks blow, because you will bottom out"
not necessarily... it will be a bit more bouncier but that doesnt mean your going to bottom out. depending on how much gap and how much of the bumpstop you cut you wont bottom out even with blown shocks...
i had my neuspeed sports for over a year now. my stock shocks are still fine. the ride isnt as good as it used to be(mainly cause i have 18s now) but its still fine. yes you will eventually have to replace them but you should be fine for now.
