What do I use to cut springs?
I read through a few old posts and people mention using a dremel or other low heat methods to cut springs. What other low heat methods are there? I don't think I want to buy a dremel unless I have to.

Rep Power: 351 Are you cutting your stock springs? Wow. Well when you hate the bounce you will be getting and want to get another set of stock springs e-mail me. I have a set left over.

Rep Power: 0 I sould have elaborated more, sorry. I am going to cut a DEAD coil off the two rear neuspeed sport springs on my car. When I bought them I was sent the sedan springs and I had them installed not knowing there was a difference between the coupe and sedan springs. The *** end of my car is too high, and many people on this site have had the same problem with neuspeed sports and cut their springs with success. I just don't know what to use to do it.

Rep Power: 351 oh, got ya. Well I would say to use a dremel tool. That way you can make it as accurate as possible. You don't want them to be uneven.

Neuspeed cold rolls the coils... heating them up like that would change the material properties and probably screw them up severely. If you're going to cut them, do it with something relatively cold... or call neuspeed and get them replaced.

Rep Power: 393 ya neuspeed "replaced" mine for free. but then their headquarters was only an hour away so i was able to. there isnt anything wrong with cutting the dead coil. just make sure you cut 1 whole coil and not half or anything. try using a hand saw? you might be able to rent a dremel at home depot.
