SPC Camber Kit Owners, Read

Please post here if you have had a squeaking problem in your rear and also have a rear SPC Camber Kit. (if it was an install problem, please do not post).

Did your squeak either:

1. Squeak when you're coming to a stop?
2. Squeak all the time?
3. Squeak only when you hit a large bump or 'pothole'

If you're car squeeked because of 1 or 2, please post. If its 3, please do not post as this is most likely a suspension/spring issue.

Lastly, please say what side and any mods you have on the rear of the car.

Why am I doing this?

A know quite a few people who have had squeaking problems in their rears...lol....in the rears of the civic that is. Im having my SPC Camber kit replaced and SPC will be studying my kit to see if it is defective. However, this could be a design issue since so many people are experiencing it. They would like to have a show of hands of how many people have experienced any problems. It will help them greatly.

Thanks,
Matt

I get squeaking all the time driving, but upon closer inspection it's only squeaking when the rear shock depresses, so I don't think mine is from the camber kit.

It still can be the camber kit. Is it a rubbery sounding squeak? The best way to tell is this....when does it squeak? During the travel down? During the travel up? During both travels.

My squeaks nonstop when Im driving, stopping, etc. When I jack up the car, it doesn't squeak on the way up...however, when I drop the car, I would say as soon as the majority of the weight is on the tire, the camber kit YELLS squeeeeeeeeak.

sovereign, i just took a look at my SPC kit.. i loosened the bolt, lowered the car and tightened it down again; however, the bushing surrounding that bolt is a stock part.. it's not available through SPC (I dont think). so i'm wondering how they are able to send you a replacement? I will get back to you on my squeaking issues.

my rear mods are: B+G coilovers, RSX sway bar, upper strut bar, lower tie bar, and SPC camber kit. I get a rubber sounding squeak on my passenger side rear louder than my driver's side rear, but they both sound like the same kind of squeak.

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I just installed the SPC rear camber kit last weekend. No probelms at all.. Make sure you tighten the bolt with the nut on the end when the car is lowered so you don't preload the bushing. Maybe that's why it is squeaking?

yeah, read my previous post above that one.

I had my SPC kit for about 9 months before i started getting those noises. I still can't be certain that they were from the SPC kit

I have that problem of the rear squeeking but i dont have a camber kit i dont think its the camber kit its the bushing because its made of rubber and thats what makes the noise in my car. The reason is when i use to have the air ride i use to let my car sit all the way down all the time and it messed it up in the rear from all the weight and how it use to just camber alot. Thats what i think since i dont even have a camber kit and it makes noise.

How long before the squeaking started? Was it always there or did it develop over time? I have the SPC rear kit, but I have only had it for a month or so... no squeaks.

ok well i have the ingalls kit and it is really close to the spc kit. i think the problem is that the nut is not welded to the camber kit like our factory camber arm is. so the bolt and nut will move up and down. if the nut was welded it would not be able to move.

I too use the ingalls... and while I thought MY creaking/squeaking noises were strut/spring issuess..... since I've replaced both to no avail... I am now accusing the camber kit of making that F***ing noise... Ingalls, I've heard, makes both rubber and polyeuro ones... I'm using the ones with polyeuro bushings... I was thinking of going with SPC to solve my problem... but now I am more confused than ever... each change I make to correct these problems costs me an arm and a leg... What about putting the stock control arm BACK on ... I am only using the Eibach Pro Kit on Koni yellows.. do I need a camber kit for a 1-1.3" drop all around?? Please help....
thank you.
