torqueing down the rear sway bar

Hey
I bought the progress 22mm rear sway bar for my 2002 civic and I was wondering how much you guys torgue the bolts on the sway bar bushings

just torque it down to 44 Nm. That should be good enough.

torque this torque that to specifications blah blah blah. u think honda service shops actually follow this? no, they use air guns and just screw the bolt down till it wont go any farther.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner! Grade 5 bolts come with the Progress rear sway bar. For that size, 33 foot pounds is about right. I upgraded to Grade 8 bolts and I torqued them down to 46 foot pounds. If you don't torque them down enough then they will vibrate loose after a while. I found out the hard way, so torque them down to spec. Also, you might want to mark the bolt and the holder with a line across them to mark the position of the bolt. That way you can check to see if it loosened. If it did, then it's too loose! Re-tighten it. I did this as well.
