Anybody Have TEIN ????
Anybody Have TEIN ????
I just got back from IAS Sema at LA convention Center and I talked to the Tein people at their booth (some fob). Anyways, he said that if i get the Tein Super Street Damper or even the Basic Damper I wont need any strut bars or antisway bars and **** cuz it wont improve much to their Genius Coil Overs/Dampers.
I currently have the revised Goldlines, their ****en bomb. but too soft for the canyon runs. I was thinking about getting ITR rear sway bar with Spoon rear lower tie bar and Energy Suspension Bushing, Neuspeed front upper strut bar and maybe the lower X Brace to finalize my suspension. Itll cost about as much as a Tein SS Damper but will it actually be better?? or should I just start saving up for the Tein Damper system.
BTW: if any of you guys have Tein Dampers it would be great if you guys could help me decide wtf is up. Thnx. Peace.
GOLDLINES are the ****. (I still see ppl debating about springs. Jesus Christ, Goldlines are better than ANY other aftermarket Springs for the drop height. Ride Quality is STOCK, gaurentee . Why do you think almost everyone at this forum has it. )

Why not have it all?
I got the
TEIN SS Coilovers
Neuspeed Upper Front
19mm RSX Rear Sway
RS Akimoto Floor Bar
The Neuspeed Upper Front really stiffened up the front part of the chassis and I'm able to rev to 6000+ without the chassis shaking as much.
The 19mm RSX Rear Sway is going to make the biggest difference than both the coilovers and the Neuspeed combined. The turning radius in the corner is much sharper and exhibits more oversteer characteristics than the stock 12mm bar.
The TEIN SS coilovers can be both hard and soft. I have my ride slammed with barely a pinky of gap. I also set my damping to the 1/2 way mark in the back and 5/12 of the way in the front. When I take it up to Autocross, I can adjust my dampers to the hardest to get the best times possible. Other than that, keeping it sane at 1/2 way still gives you great handling... the car still has the same turning characteristics as the stock height BUT the biggest difference is that I have to go at least 15-25 mph faster to get my tires to slide in a corner.
I have a favorite corner that I take everyday on my way to work and it goes in a complete O. With the Neuspeed Upper only, I was only able to hit 40mph before the tires slide. With the 19mm sway, I was able to hit 50mph before the tires slide. I have hit the same corner with the TEINS at the 1/2 way setting and got to 61 before the tires started to make noise but didn't slide. This corner is very narrow with barely enough space for a Excursion to drive through and one mistake will put my car in a 6 ft. ditch. So with that in mind, I haven't had the ***** to push myself past 61 to find out at what speed the tires start to slide.
I recently installed my RS Akimoto chassis bar and it made a big difference as far as stability is concerned. It eliminated most body roll. So who knows how fast I can turn before the tires start to slide?
Tires. I got the Kumho Ecsta Supra's and they grip better than the stock firestones. I know that these are not the stickiest tires, but they work well for the price.
