theres no good badd.. but there is soft vs stiff...
with the basics...
-there are two type of springs.. linear and progressive.. linear has a constant spring rate while progressive springs dont. just keep that in mind...
-spring rates is how much weight it takes to compress the spring 1".
-so you have a linear spring thats 300lbs, put 300lbs on top of it and it compresses 1". put 600lbs and it compresses 2". 900lb - 3", etc...
-BUT on a progressive, its not constant. the springs get stiffer as it gets compressed more. so with 300lbs it might compress 1" but with 900lbs it might only compress 2" rather then 3". thats why its not easy to determine the spring rate on progressive springs.
-most lowering springs are progressive.
-keep in mind we have 4 springs on the car so 300lbs in the trunk doesnt mean the car lowers 1". it also doesnt mean the car lowers 1"/4 springs = .25" cause remember theres weight distribution
