iamboo is on a distinguished road
Question cutting coils?

i have first gen goldline springs that drop my car about 1.75"....

i really wanna drop it maybe by another half inch to and inch. one of my good buddies told me that i should just cut about half a coil on my springs and that if i do, it wouldn't affect ride quality all that much...

should i do it cause i have 17's on and it still have quite a bit of wheel gap?

Bad bad bad bad bad!!!!!!

Cutting the spring comprimises their spring rate. Giving you Krap for ride quality. Dont do it.

CUT IT!!!
there is no effect on spring rate if you cut a DEAD COIL. this is coils that touch together. and i dont know about cutting just half, i would say cut the whole coil.
this is assuming goldlines have dead coils of course

1 full coil is better than 1/2. Good luck cutting it with a dremel or some sort of tool

If you cut the coils I heard your not suppose to expose it to any heat during the cutting process, or as little heat as possible. Use a die cutter or some other low heat method.
