direct quote from goldline: "The front bumpstop is optional but, we do recommend trimming the rear b/s."

I trimmed the rear but the front is still intact. Rides fine although I just finished an hour and 1/2 ago.

Rides like stock! Getting the camber exactly right is a pain in the *** though.

I trimmed the rear bump stops when I installed Goldline springs with stock shocks. When I replaced the stock shocks with Koni's, I had to purchase new rear bump stops from the dealer. If I were to install Goldline with stock shocks again, I probably wouldn't cut the bump stops.

2 rear bump stops cost me $25.00 at the dealer. I think it's a rip off for 2 pieces of rubber.

I ordered some brake shims and a fog light switch from Majestic Honda today. They charge $4.95 Handling fee PLUS shipping . I guess that's how they make their profit.

My rear springs did not have bump stops when I replaced them w/ goldlines. Were they supposed to be on the stock springs? Should I buy some and put them on?

I was wondering, if that's what is causing the noise from the rear. ????

Are you sure you don't have bump stops? They are essential to keep struts from bottoming out. I would highly recommend getting them and putting them on. If you are still running on factory struts, they are probably blown by now.

I have an EX model, and I have bump stops all 4 corners. I'm not sure about other Civic model though. I'm pretty sure they should have bump stops.

maybe I'm thinking of something else. In the front I had a rubber/plastic tube that went around the bottom of the coil. Is that not the bumpstop? What does the bumpstop look like?

I think your describing the spring isolators. Those are used to quite the dead coils from making noise when they touch each other. The bumpstops in the front are intergrated into the dust covers. The rears arent. Both go over the strut piston and sit at the top of each assembly.

On the rear they are made of yellow rubber/plastic (urethane?), and they have 4 segments. I cut the bottom two off.

It kinda looks like this ()()()()

I didn't cut either of my bump stops, the ride is fine???
If you think about it, not cutting the bump stops should cause the shocks to last "longer"
