Koni strut setting...?

I have Koni struts in the rear of my vehicle, and was wondering what setting I should put them on? I feel that it compresses way too much when I am driving, and when my friends are riding with me. Would it be a bad thing to stiffen them up to almost a full setting? Or would that do more harm than good? I know they are good struts, but I don't want to blow them pre-maturely.

Thanks for any help.

what springs are you running? typicaly you want to match the stiffness of the strut to the spring.

Koni's are only rebound adjustable, thus when you hit a bump they will always compress the same distance, but they will return to regular height at different rates, Koni calls this stiffness. Teins are adjustable for rebound and compression (adjusts them together). But as for what setting, I only use fully stiff for AutoX, I find it hurts more than it help as far as regular roads are concerned. Maybe around midway is a good setting, and I HOPE you don't just have koni's on the rear, that would be quite bad....

As an off note, corvette engineers found that on their magnetically active damping system, the fully stiff setting was slower on their test track than a softer setting was.... stiffer does not always mean better performance....

Why would it be bad? I have a couple friends with Konig Struts in the rear only and they have never had a problem. Just curious.
