coilovers *IMPORTANT*
coilovers *IMPORTANT*
my car will probably need new springs in the front from the accident. i don't want to get goldlines because they aren't adjustable, and i want the option. i was looking at the ground control coilovers on tornactive, but i have no idea what they're like. if they're equal to or better than the goldline's ride, i'll definatly get them.
i was looking for rob because i want to know if the limited edition set is availble for the 01 civic coupe.
this post probably doesn't make sense to anybody because i'm really tired and stressed at work right now. but if you can give me any insite about replacment springs and all i'd really appreciate it.

GC's are one of the best sleeved coilovers you can get. I have coilovers on my hatchback but hate the ride cause for one you need good shocks and two I think they bounce too much.
Firstly, for the GC's just do a search in the suspension category and tonnes of pro's and CON's will come up ...
1) you should invest in aftermarket struts. These are the Koni Yellows right now ... run you about $500-$600 US.
2) GC still need a strut and I wouldnt suggest using them on your stock suspension (although you never mentioned if you changed them or not ... guessing not)
3) dont quite understand what you mean by the goldline springs not being adjustable ??? I dont think any spring alone is adjustable (whether Eibach, Neuspeeds, H & R) ... especially to be compared to a sleeved coilover like GC or Skunk2.
4) Compare the prices for the GC + strut (Koni) and to a real coilover setup like Tien SS ... There is hardly a difference in price and you are sure that the Tien SS is not going to make noises, rattle, squeek etc... Plus the Tien is a real high performance suspension part.
I dont know if this helps but just let me know. Anyways ... if you talking about lowering your car you have these basic options
1) spring/strut combo - pick any spring (Eiback, Neuspeed, H&R) and add the Koni Yellows (as they are the only strut available for the 7th gen right now) KYB will come out with the AGX's in late spring and Tokico ... will come out with their's around the same time aswell.
2) GC sleeve/strut combo - get the GC or skunk2 sleeved coilover (the spring with a threaded sleeve that allows you to adjust drop) However, must still be combined with the Koni's ... stock struts will blow ... and also I think the Koni's are the only strut specifically designed for the GC sleeve (dont quote me on that though)
3) Real Coilover - although the most expensive ... the difference in price between 2) and 3) is minimal .... however you gain better confidence in the fact that everything fits together perfectly as the strut and sleeve spring part come in 1 peice. Your looking at the Tien SS or Tien RA for a good one.
I suggest doing a search in the suspension area for real answers ... post something for vnlilman ... he gives amazing advice for setups.

before i upgraded my struts, i had the basic setup of ground control coilovers with stock struts. the ride was surprisingly not as bumpy as one might expect, but getting koni's are an option. if it's like money problems, then going with stock struts and ground controls are fine, however, your shocks will blow out...eventually. you'll be good. at least they're adjustable! then when your shocks blow...just get the konis. i had regular struts and GC on for like half a year and my shocks didn't completely blow out. it was still comfortable
