Adj. Springs vs. Adj. Coil Overs

Engines: I know quite a bit. But when it comes to Suspensions I am, in a word, a "newbie." Visit modacar.com and look under suspension and you'll you have the option of buying either skunk2 adjustable springs or adj. coilovers. Is there a difference? Aren't they the same? If there is a difference, respond and let me know.

Thanks for the help.

a true coilover is a unit that is an ajustable spring height and damper as one. the coilovers you see on ebay are really just adjustable springs. hope this clears things up. i don't know why people now a days refer to adjustable springs as coilovers.

people have always called ground controls coilovers.. truth is they are coilovers... even our stock suspension is technically a coilover. its a coilover type suspension. everyone refers to ground controls as coilovers so i do too. i just call teins and b&g true coilovers.. either way.. you'll know the difference between this and that by looking at the price.. you see something thats 300 and you'll know its sleeved coilovers.. you see something over 800 and you'll know its true coilovers...

Thanks for the clarification. I think I'm going to end up going with a set of skunk2 adj. coilovers, and if that doesn't tighten it up enough for me swap out the OEM struts for those Illumina adj. tokico struts.
