I know that was the only year they gave LX's a sway bar, i though it was the same as the EX, but I have know idea what you're referring to when you mentioned a CAT. I know where the cat goes and I know it is no where near the front sway bar, sorry man
ok with the LX the exhaust is made so the cat converter is right on the header, but with most aftermarket exhausts and headers and cats, they are made ex-style. this has the cat back farther under the car. there is a sway bar under the car that will get in the way on the LX if an EX exhaust setup is used. i want to know what parts i need to buy other than the bar to make it fit like on an EX

how much for the EX sway bar?
I'm in the same predicament my exhaust rubs against the sway bar while turning and accelerating (hard).
How much for the RSX conversion?
It'd be great if someone could research the two and come up with the prices *cough* *points at tAkTicS* *cough* hehehe

as for the rear sway bar, a lot of people have been using the rsx-s rear sway bar. for that one you will need to buy new bushings and holders. for everything it is about $80 from the acura dealership.
i have a magnaflow exhaust and i think you do too... i heard that this exhaust will rub on the rear rsx sway bar. this exhaust hangs too low anyway and im probly going to take it into a welding shop to get the hangers adjusted. im hoping that this might help if i ever put in a rear sway bar.
the front sway bar swap from LX to EX is only needed if you buy an aftermarket cat or EX cat.
this is what i have learned so far... if anything here is wrong, please correct me so i dont buy the wrong parts.

good job. u got it right.
a side note, an RSX rear sway is about 60, the bushing runs another 5-10... anyhow, it all depends where u get it.. u dont need the Type S holders though, the EX LX brackets/holders will work okay on the rsx/type s 19mm rear sway bar.
as for the front bar, yeah, only the ex front sway bar is needed.
other place to get these are:
www.hondawerx.com
www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
in case ur dealer tries to rip u off.
good luck modifying ur lx exhaust. u should see some good yields by moving the cat back further like the ex setup... and have a better flow from the start.

Great work, tAkTicS!
Thanks!
Yup, I have the magnaflow...it rubs against the front sway bar from time to time it's annoying.
I'll have to look into getting a new header + cat. It's the only bolt-on I have left to do hehehe
Thanks again guys!

I would buy the Progress Group's front sway bar. Actually, I would buy both the front and the rear. You'll be wishing that you did down the road. They're very nice and they don't cost a ton. Plus the rear sway bar has an integrated tie bar. The front is 27mm, (ours are 24mm). The rear is 22mm (ours are 12mm). That's a big improvement and you'll clear the catalytic converter no problem. I will be getting them. I need an EX exhaust before I can start with the turbo. I need an EX front sway bar before I can start on the exhaust. Anyway, good luck!
does 1.6mm really make much of a difference?
because i think the progress sway bar is around $100
and the stock one is about $65... so is it really worth the extra $35(or so) for 1.6mm???

Read this: Sway Bars (aka Anti-roll Bars or Stabilizer Bars)
To sum up it'll be about 128% more stiff. Assuming that they have the same wall thickness since the front sway bars are hollow. In other words it's twice as nice.
