Eibach Sportlines.

Had my Sportlines for almost a year now. My shocks are still fine.. (I guess :confused Anyway, there were no fluid coming out of my struts/shocks.. when I pushed my car down and let it bounce.. it stopped after 2-3 bounces (which i guess is normal)

Questions:
1. Are there any other method to check if my struts are blown?
2. People with Sportlines: how long has it been on your ride before your strut/shock finally blew?

you could mainly tell by the ride. if your cd player is skipping at almost every little bump, chances are your shocks are blown. its kinda hard for me to tell which shocks of mine are blown. one way you could tell is to have them off the car, and apart. if they're blown i dont think they would rebound after you compress them

Also, look for major bouncyness when riding, or if your car leans to one side when just sitting. I think those would be indicators. Also you said you got the Eibach sport ... What would you say was the drop in iches and how many fingers can you stick between the front and back tires (between the front fender and the top of the tire). It says on the webpage www.eibach.com that it is about a 1.4" drop ... Is it true and is the drop noticable? I was gonna go with neuspeed sports but most people are saying a 1.7" drop I think that will be too low.

here are the pics:

Front Gap: 2 finger

Rear Gap: 1 finger

My ride:

My neighbor's vette:

By the way, I went to Meineke to do my routine oil change and brake service this morning and I asked them if my shocks were blown and they said it was fine. The guy told me the same thing what some others told me: if your car takes a while to level after you push them down, then the shock/strut are blown.

I was also told that my brake will last me at least another 15,000 miles I bought my car on Sep 18 2000 and I now have 25252 miles on her and i just cant believe how some people toast their brake pads after 15000 miles.

wow that was a pretty sweet job with taking those pics so fast ... just one question though ... were you saying you have the Eibach Sports or the Neuspeeds. You didnt mention it when you posted a reply. The drop looks sweet and thats what I would want at most.

thats cause you have sportlines on a sedan... see if you were to have OEM sedan springs on your car, it would have been much worse then that.

Honestly though .. that is a nice pic to take ... most on the members with neuspeeds are at angles or something .... not a good nice profile pic like yours ... plus also the lighting is good on yours to see the gap ... others ... not good.

What's the actual drop on your springs? I have splash guards on my car and I don't really want to take them off (It saves some time when I wash my car ) But, I notice that sometimes when I drive fast through a deep puddle of water the car jerks and there is this really weird sound that I've never heard before. All previous cars I've driven haven't had splash guards, so I'm assuming this is the splash guards touching the water. I'm worried that if I lower my car more that I'll shred my splash guards. Anyone ever have any trouble with this? Thanks

Could it be the mudguard scraping the road? I don't know how much drop I actually get. I didn't measure the stock height before I install the springs.

I'm not sure if you lowered your car but if you do.. dont you think mudguard look funny on lowered car?

Nah, the guards aren't touching the ground, just the water when I drive through deep puddles.

Check thisthread . Is this your problem? A lot of us have it. Apparently it's an exhaust issue that can be corrected.
