2002 SI struts on a 2001 Sedan?????
Well, for those people that haven't heard. I got new struts on my car but I found out something very interesting. First of all I have to tell you I saw these struts on ebay for 2002 coupe struts front and rear, I email the guy who wanted to start $80 for the front and rears shipped. I emailed him and told him I would give him $70 is he ships them out to me ASAP and I will pay ASAP. He said OK. SO 3 days later they show up.
Last Friday I decide to tackle the job and take the old blown struts off and install my Ground-Control on the new ones. Well, when I put the Ground-Control on the first time the rear sleeves were installed we put them on upside down so I did have to order new ones. So I started with the rear and everything went well and thing looked good. The one thing I did notice is that the new strut was like an inch shorter then the old but it all bolted up and all was well. I also installed a new rear strut tower bar to. So now I start on the front I get the passenger side all off and getting ready to install the GC when I find out a major problem the old sleeve didn't fit it was to small, so I called GC and told them that I had to come up cause I had no car and since it was Friday so I had to do something soon. I called Zell and we took a little road trip to Ground-Control luckily I live kinda close. It was about 70miles away but had to be done. When I got there I showed the guy the strut and he grabbed a new sleeve and slipped it on sure enough it fit OK and I was then informed by them that the struts were off a SI. The Civic's are 52 mm round the Si's are 55 mm round and well the ones I have are 55 mm. I got home and installed them and everything was good but I had one more problem now. after the shocks settled the rear is so slammed. I put the spinner to the top and still Slammed. I called GC yesterday and explained to them my problem and the debt with it. Thank you Ground-Control for taking care of me I got longer sleeves and will install them when the storm here in Cali goes away.
Well, that's my new strut story and I would tell anyone to call GC if you have any problem they will take car of you. Oh also if you don't have the poly caps on the rear from GC get them they are awesome. Mine didn't even show any wear so well worth the $15 for new ones.

omg, this thread is soooo LAME!
haha, just playin...
yah, pretty dope, those SI struts on the 01+ civics are a great replacement to your blown OEM ones. id almost have to say that they are nicer than the KONIs, yet i couldnt say that, cause i havent riden in a car with KONIs yet. haha. anyways, yes, they are very smooth, not too soft, yet not too stiff. just perfect i guess. all i know is that this JACK @SS got hella lucky comin up on some SI struts rather than the EX struts.
good job bill, now hurry the F @ C K up and get those bad boys on there!!!!!!!!!

I just want my Tein coils ... Victor is back ordered for(hopefully a week) for two weeks.
If you think those struts are nice, i wonder if you can order Type-R struts from a dealer. Wonder how much that is going to cost.

1) They're not in production.
-and-
2) The struts that come with the RSX Type S FP package only come with the package.

Anyways that story on the struts was nice ... but did GC charge you to change the back sleeves etc.... if they didnt damn that company is customer oriented.

Yeah, GC charged them for the sleeves. Sucks, huh? Made a trip all the way up to high society to have to pay.
Oh, and they were working on a new Nissan 350Z... which I missed seeing.
