Hi, I'm looking to improve the suspension of my stock 2001 civic coupe.
The stock ride is comfortable, but it is really feeling weak 20,000 miles into it.
Currently, I am thinking Eibach Pro-Kit Springs and Koni shocks.
I want to keep the comfortable ride, so I would likely leave the koni's on the softest settings.
I prefer only a 1" drop.
Questions:
Should I get the Tein SS coilovers instead?
Anyone tried them on the softest settings?
Will they have a similar ride quality?
Thanks!

Rep Power: 0 i recently installed my Tein SS coilovers and i have them on the softest dampener setting (16 of 16 clicks), and the front is dropped all the way and the rear is down equal to the front wheel gap (about 1 whole finger). i love this suspension but not because it is nice and comfortable, it isnt really, its not soft or anything so if you are looking for really comfortable dont go with these. however, if you want reasonable comfort (that is, not worse than stock) and really awesome performance and handling def get some Teins. thats how i see it now

Rep Power: 393 since you are just going to leave it at 1" i say you save your money and get the konis with prokit. it'll run you $725 compared to 1100. tein ss arent exactly meant for race but they still do use stiffer springs. coilovers in general use stiffer springs. so ya you would have a more comfortable ride with the prokit.

Rep Power: 0 Thanks for the great responses...
I think you have helped me decide, but:
If I leave the Teins at the softest settings and with the least drop, would it ride softer then the Koni/pro-kit on its softest settings? I don't care about price.
Or should I wait for the Tokicos and do a pro-kit with them?
BTW: I am running on 215/45/17's that should help right?
Thanks Again.

Rep Power: 393 i would think konis with prokit on softest would ride better then teins on highest/softest since teins are coilovers but then i'm not sure so i'll let the owners tell you.
as for tokico vs konis.. since money is not an issue, go with konis. i dont think you can get any better then koni yellows

Rep Power: 0 Can I do 2002 SI struts with a Eibach Prokit on my 2001 LX Coupe?
That sounds like it might give me the best ride quality of all the options.
Would it drop the car 1" or would the shorter strut lower it further?
Thanks

Rep Power: 0 yes you will get the best lowered ride with prokit springs on stock shock.. other than that, expect pogostick ride/
Prokit should give you 1" drop.

Rep Power: 393 what eibach has to say about their prokit springs..
Does the Eibach Pro-Kit work with the OEM shock?
All Eibach Pro-Kits are engineered to perform in harmony with the original damper of the special vehicle - take for granted a good working condition. All TÜV approvals in Germany certify the combination of the Pro-Kit with an OEM shock.
What happens to the warranty of the OEM shock when combined with Eibach Pro-Kit?
There is no change of the warranty. Actually, the weight of the car and the required basic dynamic work remain the same. Though with special progressive characteristic of the Pro-Kit, the damper is challenged more and usually makes it wear out faster.
but ya either way i still think konis will work better then even SI struts. and i doubt it will lower the car even more even if you use SI struts

Rep Power: 0 I am still reseaching to find the suspension with the best ride quality.
I checked with H&R, their coilover's will be ready by years end, so I could wait if they were a good solution.
Has anyone here ridden in a Honda with H&R coilovers, or any car with them?
Are they worth the wait?
Thanks VNlilMAN,
