Koni with eibach spings and no drop...
I took my car to a shop today to get the koni's and prokit springs installed... they asked me if i wanted to lower it as low as it could go and i said yes and after the finished my car looked the same height, you couldnt even tell if it was lowered at all. The owner of the shop looked at it and said it was installed properly but was probably something to do with where the spring is supposed to set on the koni? Has anyone else had this problem or know what the problem is?!

"asked me if i wanted to lower it as low as it could go "
uh... these are springs not coilovers... you cant decide on the height, the springs decide for you.. and thats why you shouldnt have gone with the pro-kit its only like a 1.2" drop, you could hardly tell the car is lowered... i have neuspeed sports(about 1.7" drop) and you could hardly tell its lowered. should have gone with neuspeed race or ATLEAST sportlines.. but ya it should drop a lil more in like 2 days.

Yah i know the springs decide but he said there was different positions the plate that the spring rests on the struts could be postioned to adjust the hight slightly. but somethings not right, you cant tell it was lowered at all.
and i dont think it will drop a full inch in two days...
The guy at the shop was going to call koni and try and figure out why the car didnt drop at all but they were already closed.

VNlilMAN, you know I just put the neuspeed sports on. I can definately tell the car is lowered. The in-laws were in town for the day and could definately tell as well. They both sat in the back and were scared when they saw a bump coming. I think the sport is too low of a drop but damn if it doesn't look good. Also, from the way my car is bouncing, I know the oe shocks are gone...I have just over a finger gap at all 4 corners, how much do you have?

they shouldn't rest the springs in different positions, they should rest it the way it should rest which is in their terms, the lowest... the koni's might have something to do with it to, maybe they are too stiff and is delaying the "settling" in process.... eibach springs dont settle but they do settle inside the bushings.. the rear should drop about .2" more. maybe it did drop an 1" already but you just cant tell...
i have like a 1 1/2 finger gap all around(now 1 due to my bigger tires, 215-40-18). IMO it isn't low enough for me... i like it when the wheels are tucked... that 1 finger gap is much different then a 0 finger gap to me, thats why i wish i could have gotten the race

ya i like big rims, would even go with 19s but no money.... the sidewall is perfect for me, i like the low profile look but think 35s are too small tho. errr not 100% satisfied with it tho, the gap is smaller but now my car looks so high due to slightly bigger tires.. i guess i'll be getting a kit after all...
Okay looking at it the next day i guess it did drop, but at first, both the shop and I couldnt tell at all. I remember i used to be able to fist the wheel well gap and now i can only fit like 2 or 3 fingers. Im not happy with the drop though, I guess ill just ride around on these for a while and then buy some different springs down the road, thanks for the help.

The prokit springs are supposed to drop the car ~1" at all corners. It's not a real noticeable drop. However, it does improve handling noticeably and it's about as low as you can go w/o seriously compromising ride quality.

yup, right after the install its going to be stock, after like two days is when it stops settling inside the bushings and you see your drop. and you should have looked into those springs more, if your looking for a dropped look, prokit is not the way to go, i would say only go that way if your into performance but even then its still too high. i would recommend ATLEAST a 2" drop for the 'slammed look'. between 1.5-2.0 is still low and will give you a dropped look, just not a slammed look.
and ya eibach says it'll drop the car .8" but most people have gotten around 1.0-1.3"
