$215 for F/R Alignment and Camber Kit install??? HELP PLEASE!!

I just stopped by this one place and they charge $65 for front/rear each... Then my rear camber kits they charge $85!!! Is that reasonable? I mean can't I just get a couple of buddies to put the camber kit on for me, and then let them adjust it? Oh, and a few other questions...

1) I'm on stock shocks w/ Neuspeed Sport, when I get new shocks, will I have to go through this whole alignment/camber adjustment deal again???
2) If I upsize my rims, do I have to get alignment?
3) What would you do if you were in my situation?

Thanx guys... I'm in Dallas if anybody has any recommendations...

65 for the front is way too much. it should only be 20 for both since its just a bolt. 65 for the rears is good tho. to put it on, i would think that costs alot cause it only cost me $70 to put the springs on and the camber kit should be much easier.... the front i'm sure you could do yourself, the back, i'm not sure what is required so i cant say.
1) yes
2) no
3) i am in your situtation and i'm not doing anything... had neuspeed sports for about 2 months now. no camber kit, no alignment, no shocks. but ya i know i should but oh well... someone posted their alignment report and even after the drop with eibach sportlines(similar drop to neuspeed sports), it was still in spec. alignment, i wont get unless if my car starts turning left/right by itself or if i decide to get a camber kit. shocks, i wont get till my stocks blow. even then i'm going to upgrade to true coilovers....

Yeah well here's what I've decided to do... I'm gonna get some rims... Put them in my trunk, and drive to California with them because I'm moving there... Then I'll get all my stuff done there.... Just in case I have to get alignment with rims, new shox and all... I'll just do it all at once... My tires are gonna be gone on my stock wheels, but oh well.....

why not get your rims here(in cali)? the extra weight really drags the tiny civic down.... what part of cali are you moving to?

Hey vnlilman, you dont have rims on your car do you?? Stock hubs right, because i want to get the neuspeed sports for my ride and i always believe in getting a camber kit, i will be ordering my rims soon, and i dont want 100 tires to wear in 2 months, just curious. When you put the neu'es on all you noticed was a drop and better handling, no irregular tread wear or pulling, interesting if this is the case im going to order my springs this week. Thanks again

hey y2k, its $65 for front and $65 for rear + $85 for camber kit install... I'm just gonna buy rims now but not put them on, then wait to blow and get my new shocks and have then install the camber kit when they do the shocks... it'll be $$$ but maybe cheaper overall and stuff... iono...

My suggestion is to learn to do these things yourself. It's not hard and it will save you a lot of your hard earned money. The camber kits are very easy to install. It would probably take you 15mins to do the front and 30mins to do the rear. Anyhow, I realize that some don't have the time nor the tools to do the work themselves. Oh, and it's just flat out fun to do it yourself if you ask me.

ya i'm on stock hubs, hope on getting 18s real soon, probably wont get a camber kit when i get those either... cause what i said earlier about it being in spec even after the drop... handling is better, drop isnt like "damn thats low" but i guess its kinda noticable, uneven tire wear, i only have them for a couple months and its kinda hard to tell if the tires are wearing out unevenly but from what it looks like, it seems koo

ya you might have problems getting a lowered car serviced... i remember when i took my car for an oil change... took like an hour just to change it... even hit something on the bottom of my car and claimed they didnt when i heard everything. so ya i had to raise hell and finally got them to write a statement saying they did just incase something happened... but ya i guess i'll just have to buy a torque wrench, some jack stands and start doing things myself
