the sport package has JDM springs and shocks
i was told by the service manager at the honda dealership and he said the springs and shocks for the sport package are JDM.
Right next to my JDM headrest How bout lets not post anything thats a he said she said type things. I bet he/she only told you that just cause its the trend to get JDM parts, and calling them JDM would mean a quick buck for him.
jdm - japanese domestic market.
great, most of the components in our cars are jdm. components are assembled in north america to build the finished part. the finished part is then installed into the car.

JDM doesn't make anything. JDM is a term for Japanese Domestic Market. ie: stuff made in Japan.
if those springs and shocks in the "sport package" are just JDM version of the USDM's, then screw that.
not much of a sport package then.

if you're writing in reference to the civic type R, I believe it's produced in the UK, making it UKDM in a sense...

sorry but i have no idea as to what JDM exactly means. i would think it means anything thats for sale in japan but i could be wrong, regardless it doesnt matter in here... go post in the off topic, not here.. like i said one more post that discuss the actual topic, this thread is going to be locked...
JDM = Japanese Domestic Market
It is basically any part that is OEM/stock/and even could include japanese aftermarket, etc ...... 'MADE IN JAPAN' .....
Typically, japanese OEM car parts are higher quality, or are more sport inclined. But not always....
Mostly it is just a marketing gimick for rednecks that want to sell car parts on ebay...

so ANYWAYS, back to the topic of the sport package.
there aren't any coupes in japan, right? so is it still possible to have JDM shocks and struts? the coupes are made in the USA! i know the sedans are at least somewhat compatible. I think the dealer was lying when he/she said that, or just misinformed. It's probably a set of aftermarket springs, maybe not even with shocks

the sedan suspension fits the coupe's so if it is JDM it would fit the US coupe.
but ya i dont want this to turn into a "what does JDM mean" thread. if you want to know/discuss it please post in off topic

"market" does not mean who the product is marketed to, its the origin of production.

JS
JDM...Orange corner lights for EG, Amber clock for EG, thicker sway bars for Integra (RSX), less pollution control crap, as well Mugen is JDM, it produces parts for Honda in Japan, for stock replacement. The company was started by Mr. Honda's son in the 70's.
And yes, JDM is usually better quality than USDM. But the problem us coupe owners face, there was no JDM coupe, they had 3 and 5 doors. So we are screwed.

why are we screwed? there are plenty of parts for US sedans that are compatible with US coupes.. aren't the suspension parts the same for both styles, sans the rear springs? what we need are some JDM civic ferio parts
