how do you guys know how many inches you dropped it??? i have coil overs and i just dropped it till theres no wheel gap on 17z but still i don't know how many inches i dropped it...and i agree stock height does look like sh*t...its higher than most cars in the previous generations and it seems that newer cars and having bigger and bigger wheel gaps anyone else notice that and know why??

measure the edge of your rims to the fender before and after the drop, then you know how many inches you dropped it. no wheel gap is probably 2.5/2.25 or lower
maybe it seems lower cause the springs start to sag?? n i remember seeing a 4th/6th gen civic and i thought it was lowered but i looked and it was just a BIG lady driving.

I work at a dealership as a Tech, so one day when I had a 2k1 to work on I mearured fromt he ground to the fender lip. I then measured it on mine. This is because I forgot to measure before I installed coilovers.
I had my car slammed for about a month and a half and it sucked. It may have looked nice but it rode like crap and I scraped my mid pipe of my TCS on everything, I prefer the neuspeed sport drop much better.
Here is the pic of my car now with Nuespeed sport and OEM kit and SPC camber kit.

and here is a pic of my car when I had coilovers on and no body kit and no camber kit and no DC TCS.

Its all about performance. why would you want a 4 inch drop? i admit it is cool but it is really stupid in terms of performance. how many of you race in back alleys and whatnot and raced someone who lowered their s#$@ just to impress and hit a bump break their body kit into pieces and ends up embaressed as f%^&. You dont want that to be you do ya? com on 1.4 thats it just to increase handeling. i beefed up my suspension and had to pump a good 3,000 into it and it still needs work. 4 inch drops are for wantabes.
I don't think slamming a car is the best idea. Well, I know everyone has their own opinions on how you prefer your car to look like, but as for me, mine still stock...why? because it's my daily driver, and still there are some speed bumps that even with the stock height scratches the undercarriage...but my preference is towards performance...I'm waiting for TEIN full coilovers to come out, so I can set it for performance, not just for looks...my life is full of tight curves and bumps...not just a clean straight line
If you want to see what a REAL car should look like, check out the AMG series Benzes or the M series BMWs. Those bad boys are tuned and built for speed.
I can do 150 mph in those cars while the seat heaters keep my @ss warm, the automatic climate control keeps me nice, cool and icyl for my FAST journey.
Seriously guys, if you want to see how a car should sit, check out the M5 sedan. I am quite sure the german engineers know what kind of tires, rims, and suspension a car should have to travel safely at high speeds.
Does this mean that you can buy the vehicle-speed-sensitive variable-assist power steering with M Driving Dynamics Control equipement and bolt it onto your civic?
NA...but use these cars as a kind of template to base your purchases on. Notice the wheel gap on the standard M5 sedan?
Just a thought
