Suspension

Hey guys,
I'm looking to do a full suspension on my 2003 Honda Civic Lx Coupe. I recently got the car and plan to drive it from florida to new york, Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Suspension

What are you wanting out of it?

Hot boi status, track, daily duties?

Re: Suspension

Daily duties plus a bit of fun, plan to keep the car long term and upgrade more, engine swap and other performance work down the road (interest in open track days) next summer. For the next year I need to drive from florida to new york and back to florida once. I wanted to get into the suspension, breaks, and tires first. Good enough equipment that will still allow me to do the bigger upgrades without having to redo the suspension breaks, etc. when I'm ready for the upgrades.

Re: Suspension

I had really good success with Tein super street coilovers (updated/current version, I think, is the Street Advance). Adjustable height, adjustable dampening. Comfy ride unless I wanted it to be a bit stiffer. Did a road trip from upstate NY to Vegas, many trips from Vegas to WA and back, trips from norcal to WA and back, and they were on the car for a good.. 12 years before they showed any signs of failure. At that point, the car was on its last leg, anyways.

edit: they were installed on my 2002 ex coupe

Re: Suspension

Tein makes some great DD coilovers. Probably on the soft side for track and for super low.

BC for a firmer ride.

Re: Suspension

There is the non-dampering adjustable street basis model. Those ones are pretty.. stock-ish. Maybe a hair stiffer than stock.

edit: I will say this, though, suspension is one thing I won't cheap out on. Anything that keeps the car off the ground or anything that keeps me from hitting crap in front of me, I'll pay the premium for good components. That's not to say shopping frugally or finding some awesome deals isn't a thing, but I'm more willing to pay money for brands that have done extensive R&D in suspension, wheels, and brakes than some other parts.
