Stupid Bolt!!
Stupid Bolt!!
I waz installing my Progress Springs yesterday and I waz on the front left side and I waz removing all the bolts and 1 of the bolts that is connected to the stock strut ( i think thats the name its that gold/copper looking bar) waz stuck on that thing it holds on (sorry i cant rember the correct word for it) well anywayz i takeing it out by banging with hammer for it can pop up and to come off..I take out the spring put my new spring on.... I put everything back how it spose to be and when it waz time to put the nut back on the bolt that i banged on..the bolt did not want to screw in so i waz like wtf?? my dad looked at it and he said it waz stripped..MAN i waz...pissed..So i had to put the nut the other way and jus put it in a little bit for I wont stripped the nut..By that time i had to get ready for work.So I cant use my car cuz im afraid it will destroy soemthing...And i only have the front 2 springs in and the back is still has the stock springs..So imagine this 2" drop in front stock in the back
Today i have to use that device to re-thread the bolt and then i can finish the front then i have to work on the back
..So my car looks kinda funny

Damn, that sux, but it'll be worth it when you got it dropped.
Did you strip the bolt on the ball joint? Or is it the tie rod?
Sounds like something that happened to my friend's 2k1 when we were doing his front springs.
He tapped on it with a hammer to pop it outta there,
and when we went to put everything back together,
it just wouldn't go back on.
Good luck finishing the install.

psst... You can borrow one of these from your local auto parts store. Or you could buy it from them for less than $10.
It's always so much easier with the right tools. Don't worry, the back is much easier than the front.

guys, if you follow the DIY posted in this forum, you'll know how to properly remove the tie rod. and, the DIY also shows how to put the bolt back on if it's stripped.
