Buying used Coilovers.

The front struts on my 02 coupe are blown, so this is the perfect opportunity to upgrade. I was planning on going with Tokico blues and GC sleeves, but I am looking at buying at set of used coilovers with 20k on them now.

How long do Tein coilovers last before they need to be rebuilt?
Am I taking a risk in buying used suspension parts for my car?

Thanks, for the help.

IMO, rebuilds depend on the road conditions, driving style, rebound/pre-load settings, drop height, drop via spring perch or independent, etc. Along the lines of Tire Wear. Two drivers with the same tires = different tire wear.

I bought a set of Tein Flex Coilovers from Craigslist, and had no problems. I made my judgment through pics, mileage (less than 5000) and how he responded to any questions. That was a risky move on my part, but I couldn't pass up a 6-month old set of Flex Coilovers and an EFDC to boot, for $1000 shipped. I wouldn't recommend that to anyone though. PayPal, eBay /Forums and feedback ratings are a safer way to cover your bets. Seeing the product in person is even better.

Good Luck!
