Which Are Best Springs?
Which Are Best Springs?
I have been doing some research and badly need to drop my ride. I was thinking of doing full coilovers but recently when I had my car taken to Honda Dealership for regular maintenance, they informed me that my Shocks are perfectly in new conditions. So doing a full coilover is waste of my money.
So I went through this suspension section and saw lots of rides dropped on different springs.
I Really DO NOT want my back side to be Sagging, I want a normal 2" or so Drop, equally front and back.
So Which are the Best Springs to get? Remember I have a Sedan!
So far I've heard good about Teins... but needs more info.
Thanks guyz!

Re: Which Are Best Springs?
the stock struts cannot handle a large drop (much over 1.5"); you will need to change them to accommodate the springs. i have had h&r springs (1.5" drop) on stock struts for almost two years and haven't run into any problems yet (i have a coupe though).
if you are looking to save money and don't want to replace the struts, i would look for a 1"-1.5" drop. good luck with the suspension setup.

Re: Which Are Best Springs?
well with springs your shocks wont last very long - so you might as well get coilovers and sell your old shocks or just keep them for the sake of keeping them. the problem with sedans is that the rears tend to be nicely sagged while the front still has huge gap

Yea that sagging problem is worrying me, that's why I wanted to know anyone with Sedans OEM shocks with springs who are not sagging. How about those Skunk2 Adjustable springs? Can they fix this issue?

skunk2s, can fix this issue, but your shocks wont last very long with them. eventually you will have a very bouncy ride once your shocks blow.
Re: Which Are Best Springs?
i know Eibach Pro-kit is 1" drop, and H&R Springs give 1.3" drop, both an even front and back drop. but idk if they make for a sedan, i know for sure they make them for a coupe.
Re: Which Are Best Springs?
yeah i had eibach and oem shocks and my ride was good for about a year (i have a coupe tho). U should look into gettin adjustable coilovers (skunk2), but be careful cuz if the spring rate is hella stiff then your shocks will die pretty damn quick.
Re: Which Are Best Springs?
i've heard good things about tein s-tech's, i ordered some and they actually just came in today, alot of people like them cause they work well with stock struts, they give you aproximately 1.5 drop, i need new struts anyways so once i get those in i'll put my new springs in. im currently running h&r, i forget what ones i got but they barely gave me a 1in drop plus i never changed out my struts so needless to say, that's the reason why they are now bad, like i said, everyone i know of that has had tein's whether it be springs or coilovers, i've heard no complaints from so imho you can't go bad with tein

Re: Which Are Best Springs?
My coupe is setting on the S-Techs (1.5"drop) and my Sedan on the prokit (1"drop). Both would work with the OEM struts but I would recommend upgrading to at least the Tokico Blues.....
Re: Which Are Best Springs?
i concur, lol. they do work well with stock struts but for how long, ya know? are they gonna last as long as aftermarket performance struts? i think everyone should do what i should of done in the first place, replace the struts and springs all at once rather than springs and a few months later struts because they blew or you just wanna change them out, like everyone else says and it's been said time and time again, do it right the first time or it'll cost ya in the end, whether its in money or time
