Re: good drop for DD
u can lower it however low u want, but ur going to have to get a rear camber kit so u can give it -1 to -2 degrees and likely have to roll your rear fenders.
and how low you go will also depend on how much money you're willing to spend.

Re: good drop for DD
u might not even have to roll the rear fenders if the h and r sports are a moderate drop, but definitely get a camber kit. are planning to replace ur shocks?

Re: good drop for DD
well they are rated a 1.5 inch drop, so it should be okay for daily driving, goodluck. you might not even need a camber kit in the rear if ur ever gonna drive heavy people.

Re: good drop for DD
For a DD, why drop at all? Though get some coilovers so you can adjust at different times. You dont know how many times I thought I was going to be alone and ended up with a fully loaded civic.
I would say go with neuspeed sport springs. I have 17's on 215/45/17 and there is about a 1 finger gap in the front and rear. They say they are 1.75" front and 1.5 rear. Just my 2 cents on the whole thing.
Re: good drop for DD
I think i would if i installed my ingalls camber kit in the rear that i have sitting in my room. But otherwise whether there are people in the back or not i don't rub one bit. And my camber wasnt that bad anyways. So i guess i will wait to install for a little longer. I was in the same situation as you though. I just graduated college and i was just doing things at a casual pace. I am still on stock shocks and that has been for about a year now.

Re: good drop for DD
no more than 1 inch for daily. and even then the ride is very firm with better-than-oem shocks. some people have asked me how i can drive a car like this lol, or if theres something wrong. yeah you can feel every crack in the road, but my cd player never skips and i dont mind the constant bumps and potholes. but if youre doing it just for better handling, tires will make much bigger difference. with all my suspension mods now, and cheap crappy tires, my car handles worse than stock where before with good tires it handled like bmw.

Not to mention tires, driver, and alignment are the top 3 things that should be changed to improve handling.
Re: good drop for DD
No. I am saying this because you are throwing springs on a car without aftermarket shocks. Additionally, you are lowering way too much. You can improve the handling of the car with good aftermarket shocks without having to lower. The TS didn't say why he/she was lowering and thus most of the suggestions are just what you all have experienced and not what meets the needs of the TS.

Re: good drop for DD
well, to be honest, the #1 reason for the drop is appearance. I have another car i am building for performance. but i would like this to improve the handling, and do plan on adding tokiko struts this summer as long as possible some upgraded swaybars. on the not of aligment, do you have any good DD alignment specs for some improved handling?
Alignment - as much negative camber up front as you can get with 0 toe.
negative .7ish rear camber and 0 toe
Re: good drop for DD
i have purchased the H&R sports already, which rate at a 1.3 drop. i dont mind a stiff ride, so im not to worried about that, i just dont wanna have to be constantly working on it
