Pro-Kit v.s. H&R Sports

Which springs do you guys think are softer? I already have Bilstein struts and Hotchkis 25.4mm sways and now I just want to compliment them with a MILD drop of about an inch. I was leaning towards the H&Rs because I had them on my S2000 and they weren’t bad, but im not sure if they are the way to go now. With the Bilsteins my car is already pretty firm on stock springs so I don’t want anything a lot stiffer. Thanks for the input...

Re: Pro-Kit v.s. H&R Sports

Id say the Eibach's are going to be the softer spring. When I had them on my coupe, I was actually shocked (no pun intended) at how smooth they were.

Re: Pro-Kit v.s. H&R Sports

15 inch rims, stock tire size (fuzion hri). idk what the deal is with that, people ask me all the time if the rims are 16s and what kind of special tires. lol they are all stock fatty size lmao. nothing to see here folks. and why do people love the way this tire looks? omg, it looks like any other tire i see.

Re: Pro-Kit v.s. H&R Sports

i believe the eibachs are softer. Why not just email both manufacturers and ask for the spring rates. It'll be more accurate then going off someone else's butt dyno.

i couldn't find one on 7th gen. found some spring rates on the 6th, but you can probably assume they'll be similar to the 7th gen.

I would email the manufacturers to get concrete numbers but they should give you an idea.

Heres a list of spring rates for Civics

For 96-00 Civics (EJ6-8 and EM1 chassis codes)
96-00 EX - 165F/80R (P/P)

Spring Rate is the amount of weight needed to compress a spring a certain . Springs are rated in LB/in (in metric system kg/mm), or specifically, how many pounds of weight are required to depress the spring by one inch.

With a linear spring, the spring becomes linearlly stiffer as you take the car to its limit.

With a progressive spring the spring becomes expondentially stiffer as you take the car closer to the limit. Benefit to a progressive spring is that you can get away with a softer spring for daily driving but still have the stiffness when at the limit.

The benefit to a more linear spring is that fact its easier to predict how the car will behave.

For example, you'll notice the integra type R has a linear front and a progressive rear stock. When you get serious with suspension you can play with the spring rates, hence why people like buying gc coilovers because you can go with custom spring rates.

hmm maybe go with H tech springs from tein? but its not gonna be very low at all, kinda a waste for less than 1 inch.
