Koni Issue

The 1st pic is how the Konis were originally.

The 2nd is me compressing the Koni.

The 3rd is how far the Koni rebounds after being compressed.

The 4th is how far short of the initial height the Koni rebounds.

I can pull the Koni out so that it reaches its original height and once there it stays. It is far more difficult to compress the Koni once it is compressed beyond the point where it rebounds (obviously). Both front Konis act in this manner. My rears rebound to the full height, as do the front and rears on another set I have (for an EG).

I can't imagine this is normal. Any ideas as to what is wrong here, or is this what should be happening?

Re: Koni Issue

Yeah, there is nothing that would indicate any leaks or anything, I have emailed Koni and am waiting on a reply. Thanks.

Re: Koni Issue

Here is the response I got from Koni:

"Does the part # on the shock begin with 8610 or 8641? If it begins with
the 8610 then it is a twin tube hydraulic shock and has no gas pressure
internally. Therefore it would not rebound all the way back out on its
own and the picture you showed me would be normal.
If it begins with the 8641 then it would be a low pressure gas filled
shock and it should push the rod back out."

Guess they should be all set, as they are 8610's.
