I know this is 2 weeks old but, my wife and I just installed KYB AGX struts and shocks with Eibach ProLines and it is awesome, so far. I have it set at 1(softest) and it drives almost as good as our 7th gen Accord.

Unhappy Re: KYB struts??? Good? Bad? Opinions?

I have kyb agx on for around 2 years with Eibach prokit on a 2001 civic LX 4 dr sedan. The first six month were great other than the ride is on the slightly rough side on bumps and rail road tracks with 2.5 finger gap on the front and 1.5 finger gap in the rear with 14" stock steelies. My rear shock has blown two month ago this year, and has since been replaced with tokico blues in the rear, and are waiting the front kyb to blow.

The front still has 2 finger gap and rear is now 1 finger gap, which is kind of worrying as tokico does not support drops more than 1.5 inch. By my rough estimation, 1 finger gap has to be < 1.5 drop. So I am kind of puzzle as the rear shocks are new but are sitting too low. Could a bad shock installation end up dropping too much? Thanks in advance for your help.

PS : I am not sure whether 2 years lifespan for a KYB AGX is normal or not. I cannot have it replaced since I don't have my receipt any more.

blues are good for a little more than a 1.5" drop, you'll be fine with that. as far as the install changing the drop, no, it shouldn't, unless you put something in upside or something, but i don't see how that could have happened. 2 years for a shock to blow seems like a short life for it, but that would depend more on mileage and driving conditions, than on the time it was on the car.

Those AGX are in there for around 40,000 - 50,000 miles. the front are still going, but the driver side is bit more bouncy than the passenger side, though I drive alone 99% of the time and I do weigh around 250 lbs.

Hey aliengwb, When you installed the prolines on your vic did you have differences in your wheel gaps? e.g. driver side front lower than passenger side front ect.?
