well, first thing most ppl are gonna tell u is SEARCH....this has been covered......a bizzillion time........

you can get coils but they are expensive...

or u can get good brands such as teins, eibach, H&R, neuspeed, progressive...etc

and if u get springs, ur gonna have to invevst some money in struts sooner or later...

The stock shocks aren't design for the stress that the lowering springs will put on them. They will blow eventually. Some people's stock struts last a week, some last a year. Its a matter of how low you go, how you drive, and plain luck.

On a side note just changing out your springs can decrease your performance and give you a rougher ride, but its way cheaper .

search is your friend but I wont harp on you for asking. dont drop on stock struts, you can do ti and it might even work for a while, or forever but it wont get any faster and you'll probably end up with blown shocks and a crappy ride. spend a little more and get some good struts with it. The FAQ is great for this kind of stuff. buy a neuspeed front strut brace, you need one, I promise.

oh yeah, welcome to 7thgen

When the strut/shock blows.. it just means the ride quality will become worse thats all. It wont literally explode!! lol It'll be very bouncy

For what its worth if you have a mild drop and don't go over every pothole u see the stock shocks will hold up. I've been dropped on maxspeed springs for 2 years on stock shocks. They're still good but I def want to get some tokico blues bc I want a stiffer ride. The car rides very close to factory but a lil stiffer. Like I said a "mild drop" my springs are rated 1.3" all around but a lil lower now after they settled. Thats just my experience.

Hmm. I had figured that if i was going to do springs, I'd have to do struts too. Or just get coilovers. I just assumed that stock wouldn't hold up to the lowering springs. Any one else have such good luck with stock struts and aftermarket springs?
