Steering wheel shakes at speed

When i get up to aroued 60 mph, my steering wheel begins to shake. not horribly, and not enough to affect the direction of the car. The problem started right around the time i installed my lowering springs. the car was aligned right after the spring went on, but it has been a problem since hten. does anyone have any idea what could be causing the shaking?

Badly worn tires can also cause vibration, especially if you rotated them recently. No amount of balancing will fix it.

If you have rims they usualy don't do the clip on weights like they do on steelies, they glue them to the inside and they have tendency of falling off. I had mine balanced last august before school started and its shaking again now.

I by no means claim to be an expert in suspension, as mine is stock. But everything i've read on lowering/suspension modification seems to say drive it for a while, let it settle, then get it aligned. Maybe you need another alignment?? Maybe your's was done before it settled?? I dunno, anyone else heard this??

Get some hubcentric rings def as it really helps the rims settle against the hub. Get your tires rebalanced too.

thx for the advice guys, i have had the rims for a while. I never thoughtof what amnulance mentioned, having it aligned before the springs settled. thats VERY possible.

Also, would my camber being off by about .7 degrees affect it at all?

Bigger rims will have more rotating mass on the lips having way more inertia....

I have 17 wheels and mine shakes too..just make sure the weights are still in rims and clean the inside for any debris

it could be the balancing, one of the wheels is bent, need alignment. check all those... are your tires on the right pressure?

Alignment wont cause a vibration... It will cause your car to pull, wear tires quickly/uneven and maybe handle poorly but it WILL NOT cause a vibration.

These can:
Wheel/Tire Balance
Defective Tire
Bent Rim
Blown Struts
Broken Engine mount
Worn/Unbalanced Axles

ooo blown strut. would not have thought of that one. im about 90% sure my drivers side from strut is blown.

also i have uneven tire wear from a lack of front camber bolts to make adjustments
