2006 RSX-S Supension in 05 Civic Sedan
2006 RSX-S Supension in 05 Civic Sedan
First off, i have searched, but most of the threads are using the old suspension, not the newer kind, these have inversely wound coil springs is the only difference i've heard so far, are there anyother difference i should know about.
I know i have to grind the lower bushing a little bit, and i should get two bolts, and the tie rod too, but has anyone fitted these to a sedan?
I have H&R coupe spriings in my car, but i'm not experiencing too much sagging since i have the Special Edition (VP for US people) so i'm gussing that the weight issue and balance issue should not be too relevant.
Also i getting the front sway bar in the package too, therefore luckly i don't have the Si (EX) exhaust i think this should fit right?
Finally, a friend of mine recently upgraded his 06 RSX base to the type R rear sway, and gave his oem to, i think this should be ok with his 19mm rear sway rite... For some reason i heard the VP in the US doesn't have a rear sway, but my SE has one, and NO i did not add this on, it came from factory, i think this shoulod be the 15mm one rite
to thx in advance

What are you asking about?
You cannot put stock RSX springs on your car. well you can, but it will look stupid because of the weight distribution.
The sways should fit.
BTW - It's Boilermaker...

Well, i guess the title didn't explain it well, so, yes i want to put it in, and i've also explained, i think the look should be alright, since my car tipped the scale a 1123 kg and compared to the coupe, my seden is actually lighter, so the H&R coupe springs worked ok in my car
Furthermore since the RSX-S shocks are stiffer, so i don't think i should look too bad,
thx for ur inputs guys
btw this is the how strut setup i'm getting

It doesn't matter. The K series is heavier and weight distribution is around 60/40 whereas the civic is closer to 50/50 from what I know. You can try, but I am just informing you that there is a high likelihood that it won't look right. Besides, swapping OEM for OEM isn't going to make much of a difference.
I have a couple ex model and i used to had a set of rsx type s springs in it. The front springs worked out great and kept the stock ride height. The back as was mentioned was higher than normal. It might look funny in the back but you will love the ride and the way it corners!! Since the type s springs are stiffer than the base model springs, they have a couple more loops in them. What I did was cut off 2 loops from the top side of each spring, front and back and got a nice 2 inch lower in the front and 3 in the back, and didnt loose performance. - just thought i would add that info for you.
dude why can't you just get aftermarket springs? rsx springs will give the same height...maybe a little better proformance but maybe your not looking for the lower look so i don't know...either way aftermarket springs are better!
thx nitro for the info,
well, the shocks have come in and i think i'm going to go ahead and try, as for the back being higher, i think the 2 extra door might compensate, and i don't want to cut them, safety issues to that,
btw i want these because i want an oem ride, sightly lower, (a-spec suspensions are .8 inch drops) something stiffer (rsx weights more), and to replace my shocks cuz i heard that the oem civic ones don't last too long, and i'm dropped 1.4 inches for 10,000kms now, meaning that they will be byebye soon
one more thing, i've checked with the parts manager at my local honda, and they have said that it won't be too bad, since, although k series engines are heavier, they are still relatively the same weight distribution since civics are lighter overall, the difference he pointed out to me was that the rsx-s weight distribution is 60.52 and 39.48 and the civic se a/t is 59.41 and 40.59, so basically minor differences... like a full tank of gas and and empty is the basic difference.
btw, nitro, you u have pics of that setup, i kindof want a look
one side note, i've just installed the rear sway bar of an rsx and is pleased with the result but, is it too stiff, because i took a 270 degree onramp at 110kms, my back slide out of line...
