I have the Tein-SS installed in my 2002 Civic (with 2002 OEM top mounts). So I decided to lower the suspension some more by lowering the front end all the way (no threads at the bottom), and about 4-5 threads in the rear.

The question, or problem really, is that the front springs seems to be too short. Since the bottom collars are all the way down and the spring sits on that, the top of the spring doesn't meet the top mount unless the car's weight is on it. Is that normal for this application? When the car is jacked up and wheels are off, there is no load on suspension, so the spring basically moves up and down freely.

Anyway, any sort of help would be appreciated. In most likely cases I'm gonna raise the collars back up so that the spring sits snug with the bottom/top perches.

You're right, if you try to lower fron all way to the bottom, then front springs just become "loose".
Lower it all way to the bottom and when lowering car with jack, make sure spring gets to sit properly.
With lowest drop, it will look like edge of the tire is on par with fender line, no gap.

Will this have any safety concerns as opposed to having it tight? I've driven on it today (about 50 KMs) and so far the spring seems to be binding (causing 'knocking' sounds when turning the wheel). But this isn't new, before I lowered it all the way it still was binding.

I woudnt want springs on my car be "loose" in any situation.
Clicking noise - you're not suppose to have it. Something is not right.

The Damper Come With A Minimum Adjustment Tolerance. Once You Go Pass That Its Pointless To Have The Springs. Check The Website To See What The Settings Are. Otherwise You Just Wasted Your Money.
