Need Opinion on Springs
OK just got my taxes in
and I have a couple hundred to spend on springs.
I would like to have a medium drop just about 1.0" to 1.5" so I can keep my OEM shocks/struts.
So I have two options:
Eibach Sportline (which I know are good) $230.00
http://www.dezod.com/pd_eibach_sportline.cfm
or
H&R Sport Springs (which are about $80 cheaper) $154.00
http://www.dezod.com/pd_hr_sport_springscivic.cfm
And what exactly is the drop on those Sportline because I hear it being 2.0" and 1.5" and I dont know what to trust. Thanks guys for your help.

I just read somewhere that the springs also wear in so that 1.5 eibach would lower even more. Would that put too much stress on my shocks if it does wear in? Or am I ok to go with eibach?

well I just found an Ebay auction for some H&R springs for 70
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=8040041581
is that a good buy? personally I think it's a little high for 10,000 miles but maybe I'm wrong.

H&R will blow your stock struts i had a set on stock struts and they started to leak after a couple of weeks. Eibach are better quality springs. I don't know if the struts will last you tho.
I hope I offend you... Get mad

if thats the case I guess I'll stick with prokit and only do an inch.
If you hit a bump in the road and get the travel out of your struts, yes they will blow.
The design of the stock strut is only allows for the travel on a stock spring.
Once lowered, the compression ratio of the stock strut is not a match for the extra 1" - 2" of travel that is gained with the springs. The struts may last a day, a week or even a month or two depending on how you drive and what the roads are like where you drive.
I have the Eibach sportlines, and now I need the tokico blues. The stock struts are long gone. But it handles really well in smooth curves.
Oh, you will need a camber kit if you plan on keeping tires on your car longer than 10K miles. There's my 2 cents.
My rear springs and camber kit are going on very soon. Weather permitting.

eibachs all the way, the make very reliable, accurate and consistant springs. i have a set of sport lines on my car and it gives it a nice drop and isnt too stiff. and dont worry too much about scraping and stuff, it's not that bad. prokits are good too, but i just found that sportlines are so much nicer. it has a 2 finger gap front and back. i've tracked with them as well and got little body roll, compared to some cars that is. and i've been running on stock shocks for a month as so far, it still nice and strudy, no boicing and crap, i'm sure it will hold up just fine for a while, just so long as you dont abuse the suspension by making fast 25mph right turns into a driveway or somthing.... as for camber.... no matter what springs you get i would suggest getting camber kits, but it is not totally nessesary. some of the other peoples comments are a bit over exagerated, but personnally i find it crucial for my needs

um, lets be realistic, if i go lets say, 20mph over a speed bump, my **** will blow. if you baby your car like i do, its WAY less likely. thats just the truth. idk bout you guys, but i take FOREVER to go over speed bumps on stock stuff. yes stock stuff. won't be stock soon but i still baby my car. just be careful. yes potholes exist and stuff happens but you know, be careful
