Rep Power: 400 Those are NEVER going to last. They say no lower than 1.5" because of travel limitations on the strut (it bottoms out and blows) not the damping.
Konis are about 35mm shorter than stock struts, which is why you can go lower, but thats not to say going that low is a smart thing to do. *cough* steering rack *cough*

Rep Power: 0 My buddy did this EXACT setup on his 3.0 CL....did exactly what KYB says not to do, drop over 1.5".....he let the car sit in his garage (never touched pavement) and the struts blew and now the car literally sits on the floor...as Boiler said, choose the Koni's to have proper valving for a larger drop with a nice strut, or if handling isn't as much priority as drop, choose Tein Basic's for street use.....

Rep Power: 0 Money! The drops over 2.0" that are for pure looks sell more than a mild drop that does what springs are supposed to help with, handling. Most kids go out and buy a set of springs because they can't afford a set of coils, but they still want the huge drop on a strut designed for a certain specification. There is nothing wrong with this if you are on a budget or don't mind blown struts.....but I highly recommend a set of good quality coils.....

From a business point of view they make lowering springs because there is a market for them and people out there are going to buy them reguardless of shocks blowing.
