Dashboard performance upper rod

I saw that Civic Si Type R (3 doors) has a "performance rod" on the dashboard (see black bar on the picture).

I imagine that if Honda install it on the TypeR is because it is doing something...

Will it fit a 7thgen also?

I'd imagine a Neuspeed upper strut tower bar would perform the same or better.

Yeah maybe... but they are not bolted at the same places... why Honda didn't install a strut bar then?

What is flexible is this area of the chassis anyway?

I don't think the dashboard part flexes as much as the strut tower ... the strut towers have a huge space inbetween them whereas the dashboard has all that plastic and metal inbetween

The firewall is the strongest part in the whole car. I can't possibly see that bar doing much in the way of anything.
It appears to be connecting the strut towers, but a neuspeed bar accomplishes the same thing, with the multiple attachment points of the neuspeed probably being more beneficial.

So why they did not install a strut bar instead?

So technically that bar do near to nothing and it is hidden under a plastic cover on the EP3 typeR... no go and no show! No sense!

I saw that here: http://www.civictyper.ca/, I guess I will contact the guy, to have his feedback... (about the placebo effect!!!).
