Noob rear strut bar problem...did a search
Hi I have a 03 coupe Ex and I am having a hard time installing the rear strut bar. I have a generic strut bar and I just can't find a way to install the bar. When I drop the rear seat and open a plastic piece I barely see the strut tower. It looks like to installs the strut tower I might have to remove the seats. Hopefully you guys will be able to help. Thank you
no you dont have to, the carpet in the trunk covers the towers themselves, i dont have a pic, but the best way i candescribe where they're at is on the front of the rear wheel well, hope u figure it out!

^^ i have pulled mine off 3 times and never knew about the covers lol. Like what was said just go all the way in your trunk(corners) and pull the little piece of carpet back ohh ya and make sure your bar is nice and loose before putting it on you may need to adjust it a few times. I did mine with out pulling any seats. Good luck.

Oh jeez.
First question... you understand what a wrench is right?
If yes, continue.
Pull the carpet back, put the seats down, pull the cover plate.
14mm deep well, undo the inner bolt (the one you can get a wrench on from the trunk) then go through the hole in the seat panel with a 6" extension on the 14mm deep well socket. Undo the other one. Install the end plate w/o the bar, do not tighten the nuts all the way.
Repeat for other side.
THEN bolt the bar between the end plates. Tighten the nuts on the bar ends.
THEN torque the bolts on the shock towers to 45 lb-ft.
It can't be spelled out anymore.
If you didn't understand that, just give up, send the bar back (cuz it isn't going to do anything anyways) and put the trunk back together.
