Alignment required with minor drop?
I have a set of Tein S-tech springs going on my car soon, and I've been told that an alignment is not "necessary" with the drop that the springs will give me (1.3" approx). What do you guys think? Is it something that I can do without, or should I get one for good measure anyway?

can i throw in a random question that i think you might know...that way i don't have to make a new thread about it? good! (if not..oops lol)
does not having a torsion bar for the trunk have any ill effects? it was hitting my passenger side 6x9 and causing me a lot of head ache..so on the way to work i pulled over and just yanked it out. i was trying to just bend it a bit..but the whole thing came out lol. speakers work now...but the trunks a bit heavier lol. just wanna make sure its not going to make my car explode or somehthing haha.

Dam... Wha'd I miss?
(I allways seem to be last to chime in lately....)
and just to make this post relivent..... altering the ride height that little may not cause too much camber gain... but its not camber that you should be worried about its the alteration of Toe.. as bad toe settings will eat tires 10X faster then just about any amount of camber... and Toe does get altered quite a bit when ever you alter the cars ride height. (and you cant really see it like camber, which is why more tire wear problems are blamed on camber then Toe)

u don't need an alignment for that kinda drop, we have light cars, liitle bit of toe or camber won't do much damage to tires. my car has been dropped for 2 yrs now, I never got an alignment nore a camber kit and haven't had problems with tires. BTW next time use the search botton noob, locked.
lol jk, had to say that

i lowered my car and got it aligned. then i raised my car an inch and had to get it realigned again cuz specs were all out. i had positive toe and positive camber on most of the tires so they were all pointing out not in. so yes u need an alignment on any change. i changed only 3 of the 4 heights and even the tire i didn't change was out. so u need an alignment on all four. whats a reasonable amount of time to get alignments? like every 6 monthes?
I can't remember how low I dropped my car when I got my tein SS, but I got it aligned immediately after installation. If I can remember correctly it was only an inch drop. I then asked if it was necessary for a camber kit; they told me no, but it helps. How exactly does it help? I know nothing of camber kits. I do want to optimize the handling of my car at a priority upgrade, though, so would this be a cost-efficient investment?

camber kit allows the shop to properly adjust the alignment. Without it, the stock hardware won't be able to adjust far enough if the car is lowered past factory spec. I would say it is required. The shop I went to said they wouldn't be able to align it without one. SPC is a good brand.
Whats a decent price for a good camber kit? And for this type of equipment, would it be advisable to buy it from an online store, or an aftermarket shop? I realize online store's often have cheaper prices but I have yet to find one thats 100% reliable.

Find someone on this site that sells em. I got mine from a vendor here. Around $150 is average for a front and rear kit. Then the shop charged me around $180 to install and align.
