ew rims how much to raise
ew rims how much to raise
Hey All -
I've been running si's for a bit now n decided to get some new rims. I'm dropped on B&G's w/ SPC camber kit. The driveway on the house i'm living in isn't level what so ever and i need to raise my car to fit my new rims. I currently have a one finger gap on the si's. (205/50/17) i'm wondering how many inches i should raise my car so my new rims will have the same gap. the new rims are 215/45/17
Thanks

u can find the diameter of your sidewall by doing the math.
Sidewall measurements-
old tires-
205/25.4 x 50 =4.035 inches
new tires-
215/25.4 x 45 = 3.809 inches
so 4.035 - 3.809 = .226 inches + 2 inches from 15 to 17. so thats a total of 2.226 inches= this is how much larger the new tires will be. so raise it at least 2.226 inches to get the precise drop. hope i did that right. i kno the calcs are right for the same tire size but im guessing if ur going from 15 to 17 u just add 2 more inchs. correct me if im wrong.

Its an inch and a half difference in diameter.
Just plug it in on a tire calculator.
I'm not sure how you came up with that number, but its way off.

i have 18's with b+g's and i have the front dropped all the way. the back i just leveled it where its even. theres maybe like 10-15 threads left. you could drop it all the way and just go sideways up ur driveway.
so i raised it up two inches (measuring the threads) which didn't turn out the way i wanted. the front has a gap probably an inch two big and the front gap is 1/2 in too big. i guess raising it up based on measuring from the thread doesn't work. i'm gonna bring it to a buddies house this weekend and level it out on in his garage. so moral of the story is...if you wanna raise it don't base it off of measuring two inches up on the thread... or maybe i just did the math wrong? who knows.
