lowered car rant thread...

Well i always have the most pain in the a$s time trying to get work done on my car. There aren't really any places here that do alignments on lowered cars. none of which have flat ramps to get on the alignment rack. well i have to go from place to place to find one and when i do they charge you the max of 100 bucks. then when u gotta get your car on the rack, they take forever to get it on and half the time when i go places there like, uh lowered car, we dont kno what that is. i swear if i could, id open an alignment shop with a drive over ramp thats flat and id be mint. not to mention i would do other stuff on lowered cars and make more. if i need work on my car, i dunno where id go cuz no places do lowered cars really. i tried speed shops here and there really isn't any decent ones and the ones that are around here dont even do suspension, its all like, i kno a guy who knows a guy who can do this and that.

roads- oh damn, its like they dont kno what a flat road is. i swear they dont have one of those pavers that evens the road out. everywhere theres road work or a little fix in the road, theres a bump, a dip, or something to mess your car up. the other day there was a like dip in the road that was 2 feet long and there was no signs and i almost flipped out when i went over it. also the highways here are horrendous. i think they put those like pavement dividers like every 5 feet that seperate the concrete and every divider is raised in the road, so it is the most bumpy uncomfortable road ever. who ever thought of making speed bumps friggin 5 feet long. theres like these two camel humps near my school that i go 1 mph over cuz there 5 feet long and my whole car is sittin on it at one time. luckily i just fit over it and dont scrape.

parking garages- gosh i cant even park at my school garage that i pay to go too and i have to park in oversized cuz they decide to put a dip in the road that my car wont fit over cuz its so low and scrapes the bottom of my car and side skirts. so then i cant get to the second floor and have to park in the oversized vehicles and then yell at people why i have to park there and cant go to the second level. even got a ticket and got it written off cuz they didn't understand my situation. once i explained it, it was all good tho

parents- dont they kno that no matter how much they tell you to raise it, your not gonna raise it. they go, well you wont have this problem or that problem if it wasn't so low. maybe you should raise it. its like a broken record that goes on and on. you kno i wont raise it, so u can stop telling me. its lower cuz i like it low..

people who go in your car- "its bumpy, its a rough ride"... ok go get another ride then. what was that? "oh that was called bottoming out cuz your in my car, this never happens when im alone" dont you hate when you gotta give people rides and then u scrape cuz there adding weight in your car and lowering it? i always hate that. i never let more then one other person ride in my car. thats just a nuisance.

alright that was the end of my rant anyone else wanna vent, go right ahead too haha. and yea i love my car lower, i dont care about the stupid stuff that comes along with it, its worth it seeing how nice it looks. btw im lowered 3 inchs with a full urethane kit, so im good when it comes to scraping.

I'm lowered just over an inch, so I don't have quite as bad of problems as you do, but here's what I hate... TRUCKS. I thought it was bad beforehand, but if I'm driving at night and there's a truck - or worse, a lifted truck - behind me, I swear the headlights seek out my three mirrors and just beam that crap right into my eyes. And in my area, there are lots of rednecks who LOVE to drive like *******s with their gi-normous lift kits and it SUCKS.

The worst is when I race on crappy as roads, that have lots of dips and turns. Sometimes I'll come around a turn dip then hit a bump, and then something under my car clanks loud on the bump. Its bad...

I say just get coil overs. At least your can higher them when you need alignment work done. Or just find a good tuner shop. You can try posting in the PA forums and see if anyone knows a place.

I found a pretty good one where i live. Then again, finding a good tuner shop in CA is as difficult as PA probably.

you cant just raise them and then get alignment work done. cuz that aligns it at that height. it has to be lowered and then aligned cuz the tires have camber when its lower. yes it is hard to find a good tuner shop cuz there are none. i think going to tire places and midas are the two options.

i gotta post up here. hustlelikem0fo how the hell do you drive in philly slammed like that? I live in philly to when I'm up at school for the semester and I f-in hate driving in the city just with the prokit.

I hate when you pull into a parking lot or something and the frigen concrete slab in between the road and the lot is pointed up and some ******* is in the middle of the exit trying to get out, so i can't take it sideways to avoid scraping.

I also hate (I guess it's because im in college too), when like you drive a friend somewhere and somehow they invite like 3 frigen more people and they all shove in the backseat getting **** on the carpet and scraping the plastic trim on the inside, and then you have to drive with the car slammed and its even worse...

Drops are a pain in the *** but I don't have the gumption to raise it back to stock because the fender gap is unbearable.

glad i'm not the only one. i'm not even that low and there are places in the road where you could break rims on. big holes in the road and what seem like speed bumps on regular streets.

Try living in NH, nothing is worst than FROST!!
It causes the roads to heave and leave huge pot holes. I think the roads in NH are probably the worst, although I know NYC is very bad too.

it sucks so bad. today i was going in a turn lane that i've never been on and I thought I was gonna spin out. the entire road for about 30 feet had deep potholes and i ran over em going 30+mph. All I heard was alot of loud bangs prolly shocks bottoming out and when I finally stopped I just sat at the light for a minute in shock.
