Rep Power: 0 Front Drivers side 1/2" lower then Passenger side.
OK – as you may know from my previous post:
Driver side front strut failed ~6 months ago. I was ~2000 miles over
warranty. Wrote a letter to Honda USA, and they said they would cover
the failed strut, and only the failed strut. This was the second time the struts were replaced.
Went to the dealership for the service and offered to pay for the other
strut because I had heard you should have them replaced in pairs.
Dealership recommended I only replace the one strut because car only
had 38000 miles on it and "Driver weight stresses the driver side
strut, more than passenger side. Therefore driver side wears much
faster." They replaced only the one side. Slight pull to right in the
car, but I was told that will go away as the new strut wears.
Now, 4 months after the service, 5000 miles later, car still pulls and
just noticed car leans to the driver side about ½ inch. (35.5” from ground to top of wheel well on drivers side – 36” on passenger side) I figure this is the cause of the pull.
I just learned that Honda uses two different struts for the 02 Civics, is it possible that I now have one of each and they are different heights? Springs?
Car feels like I’m driving a plate of jello. I figure the passenger side is about to go, So, now I’m buying new struts – Probably Tokico Blues. This will fix my strut problem, but what about the ½” lean?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Nate

Rep Power: 387 Tokicos will help, but you will always have a lean. The drivers side is where you sit and the engine sits. It's nomral. Tokicos will help with your crappy struts blowing, so get a set.

Rep Power: 387 Tokico's are a great upgrade from stock shocks and will last longer, especially if you keep stock springs. I put tokico's on abstractprodj (http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=224727) car and he says they were better than his blown stockers, obviously! I highly recommend getting them sometime just because you are having so much trouble with the stock ones.
