my 01 civic struts front popped...
now i need replacement... but I don't want to spend too much... I wanted to get someones old 02-05 struts... but I know that 03-05 don't fit... because of the 16mm and 14mm

are there any other alternatives???

^^^ yup, its a good replacement. But be prepared to spend about 350 or a little more on all 4 shocks.

go back to the dealer and tell them that this is a recall part.

did you a letter from honda say yoou needed to bring the car back to have it replaced.

for some reason the front strut on a 01 civic was defected.....go ahead ask the dealer about it.

Its on a TSB, not a recall. Given that its now late 2005, they're not going to do any freebies on an 01. They'll say its normal wear and tear and you have no defense for that after 4 years.
