TEIN Flex with EDFC On the Way!
Hey guyz,
I just ordered my TEIN Flex's with the EDFC controller for my '01 Vic.
I have read the other posts with folks with the Flex setup, but the only other member I've seen with this setup is Rijowysock.
I'll post some pics of the install if necessary (electronics hookups and location of EDFC).
Oh ya, I ordered the SPC Pro camber adjustment kit as well, in case anyone was wondering. (That's the one that comes with the lower rear control arms.)
I have read it requires a bit of hood modification, But I can handle that. Rijowysock - Did you have to modify your hood to fit the Flex you got?
Peace

Thanks for all the info.
I got the entire setup (not including camber kit) for about $1950.00 from www.hpautoworks.com ($1550 Dampers - $300 EDFC) plus tax/shipping.
SPC Kit was $200.00 from another place.
I will probably not install EDFC right away and allow dampers to settle first. But I will take pics of the install and before/after shots.

Wow... thats a whole lot of unnecessary gizmos and garbage that you didn't need.
You do realize that once you get the dampers in the right place, you're never going to touch the EDFC box again right? And its really not hard to just turn the **** by hand?
Honestly, I'd return the EDFC and the LCAs if you can. There's really no need for either.

Not to mention it isn't legal for any sanctioned racing. So they're really just selling it as a gimmick. It has no real fuction that you can't do by hand.
I haven't touched the ***** on my shocks in 4 months, track time, street, autocross, whatever. Once you get them set right for the spring rates, you're never going to use it again. Its not like you're going to have a highway mode and a speed bump mode or something.

I swear I dont mean to offend anyone, but I see where your coming from since you autox guys wouldnt need anything like that; on the contrary, someone who's actually built their civic for the 1320 would make definite use out of that. WHATEVER YOU SAY DRU106 YOU THE MAN

Want to run 1/4s.... throw everything you got under the hood, then make sure you have just enough to hold the car down. Suspension doesn't knock off more than the .1 you gain from having a properly tuned one keep you on the ground out of the box. After that, its along for the ride.
EDFC is TOTALLY USELESS. Its like the tein hydraulic hood prop. A stick works, but its not green. Its like carbon fiber gas caps, neon lights and fart tips, but with a big tag. High end rice if you will. There is absolutely no functional point to it beyond something to just have because you have an excess of money. There's far too many ways to adjust the way a car handles, damper adjustment is probably the last one you really want to **** around with. Its a black art. Its all guessing. You have far more luck adjusting the handling with alignment, tire pressures and sway bars than you ever will with shock adjustments... all they're there for is the last extra ounce when you've done everything else.
you know now that i think of it i shouldn've spoken on behalf of autox people, the 1320 example was pretty dumb, and i can see where you're putting edfc in the rice category or something like that. I guess i was thinking of a quick 1/4 street race where you would want to change damper setting from street to race, those 3 presets on the edfc.

I say the EDFC is good because you can test and tune it real-time, rather than getting out of the car every time to change it. And then save it to one of the three presets...
im not arguing with this VV trick, nor would i try, my car would smokem in the 1/4 where it counts to me. After he reads what i post, talk is cheap, a comparison of our civic's would deem me the victor effortlessly

^^Oh I see where your going with this. Did you come out in stomp? Put a little bit of this
right there on your car and bam. Just had to, this thread went way off topic with boilermaker here trying to rag on me, must really be insecure on the size of his manhood.. Anyway your right, your car would be better than mine, if you had the money to put into it, but you don't, and I did. So all around forget everyone, I'd smoke your *** sucka. If you wanna base your argument on your driving skills, go to an all autox forum where real drivers gather, the last time I checked 7thgen was mainly about the 7thgencivic.
