lowering civic coupe
Hi everyone,
Just fitted a set of 40mm Jamex lowering springs to my civic coupe.
The front is nice and low but the back is a little bit higher, is it true that they have to settle for a bit, as thought that it would be the back that would be lower as when the standard springs were on, the front was higher than the back.
Also one side at the back is sometimes slightly higer depending on where the car is parked is this also down to it settling down.

jamex lowering springs, 40mm. never heard of that one... got any links to specs of that model?
assuming the springs are suppose to give a 40mm drop all around, yes the front will be lower as the engine is located at the front which "sags" it down more. and yes, you would need give time to let it settle, i say a good 1-2 weeks depending how you drive often.
it could from the view you see it for one side of the rear being higher than the other. check tire psi? or maybe its just low budget springs? idk

I travel a total of 300 miles a week to work and just been over a few long bumpy roads to get a bit of life in them.
Will it drop any more in a few weeks do you think?
Here is the springs I got:-

hmm, first time ive seen jamex springs. hows the ride on those so far?
take a pic of it now and take one in 1 week. same spot, same angle, etc. most likely, you would need the springs to settle or just the fact that the engine is located on the front end of the car. but got to keep in mind honda made the front lower than the rear from the factory; or was it vice versa?

Ride is fine actually better than stock prob cos them springs were a bit knackered. It's obviously harder but not noticable, only changed springs though.
After a week or so there not gonna drop any more are they? or does this happen?

Our cars appear to sit lower in the rear because of the rear panels are made lower. Thats why you put an offset drop on the car to make it appear level. Just like 2"F 1.75" R it make it look more even than just a 2" drop.

WHat else do you need to purchase with lowering springs so the car doesnt get screwed up and you dont break anything. I just bought Tein S lowering springs what else should i purchase to make everything work out how it should?

Aftermarket shocks help alot, your stock shocks may survive for a year or 2 weeks, why not do it right and get it all. I used to be the same way, but i seen where everyone was telling me the same thing and i figured they know what they're talking about so i ordered Tokico Blues along with my Neuspeed Drop. Camber Kit also if you want your tires to last longer.

Why is that? Shocks will improve the ride, the stock shocks have a chance of blowing and i don't feel like taking it back to the shop to have new shocks installed for another $150, might as well do it right the first time.

Tru I might as well do it right the first time The problem is where the hell do i get good after market shocks for my 05 i cant find em. Another question a Camber kit is for one wheel only correct so I would need to get 4 of them? to drop the whole car and make sure its right
hmmm i was trying to buy all my **** at one place online they got my tein s spring my camber kit but no shocks for my 05 ****.. so back to my chamber kit question I need 4 of them since there per wheel right or do i need 2 one for front one for back
NAPA sells the camber kits to fix your problem. I work at a NAPA in Spokane. I bought my camber parts through a company called SPC which we carry for all of our alignment products for almost any car/ truck. The problem is finding the parts guy that will actually look on the book, and not just the computer. (Our computer database is not updated for alignment parts on 04 or newer. The SPC products are the same as most aftermarket brands without the logo. So if you want to save a few bucks and not pay shipping.. that is the way to go. If the parts guy/gal can't find the parts you need, just contact me, I will gladly help you out, (I'll even get it cheaper for you).

I have the Tein S-Tech Lowering springs for my 2002 EX coupe. You could do new shocks, they will help, but aren't nessisarily needed. You need A front and rear camber kit. You can Buy two kits. One for the front, and one for the back. Suprisingly the back seems to need it more. If you run your car hard then make sure to get camber ARMS in the front, not just the bolts. The bolts will easily be thrown out of allignment if you drive too hard. You'll look at paying bout $200 for a good back kit, and about the same for decent camber arms for the front.
you probably wont use your current shocks after you get after market ones, so you might as well get a camber kit now (spc kit about $130 for full kit, all 4 wheels) and once your shocks blow, replace em'. why waste a new set of shocks and let em' sit in the garage forever. just my $.02.

technick03, why would you want to wait until your shocks blow? Then he will have to spend the money like he was going to do before, but pay for them to be put on, when he could have saved 150 - 200 dollars on installation, your not wasting the stock shocks, sell them.
